Hi,

You can search for the word 'sound' in the Start Menu search box.

How to record sound
Once you have started Sound Recorder check that your microphone is plugged into the sound card. Also, don't forget to check its sound level in the Volume Mixer. If it is on mute you won't be able to record anything.
When you are ready, click on the Start Recording button. Job done :)

Cant record music

You must have mic connected and enable it from sound devices.
Open Sound recorder from Start menu->Accesories
Click on the red button and it should record the music.
tip

Where has the run command gone/how to show run command.

In Windows Vista and Windows 7 , the run command is hidden by default. This was probably done to declutter the start menu , but I like having the run command available as it does come in handy for more advanced users.

So , how do I get it back?

Right click anywhere on your startbar and select properties.

Now , under the start menu tab , select customize.

Now , just under the recorded TV section , there is a check box with the run command. Check the box and select okay.

Your run command will now once again feature in your start menu.

Xitel Inport De luxe with window 7

The directions for using the Xitel Inport Deluxe under Win7 are the same as those for using the device with Vista. The drivers are built into the OS. You will need to set the audio input to the Xitel device. For most installs of Windows 7 (Aero capable), with the Inport Deluxe plugged into a USB port on the computer, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Under the Sound listing, click on Manage Audio Devices. In the Recording tab, right click on Microphone Input and select Disable. Right click on the Line INport and select Enable. Right click again on Line INPort and make this the default device. Click on the Playback tab and right click on Speakers INport and select Disable.
If Aero isn't available, it's Control Panel > Sound.

You can use any recording software that runs under your version of Windows 7. The LP Recorder software manual starts on page 8 of the Xitel Inport Deluxe manual. If you do not have the original disc, LP Recorder is available here: http://www.cfbsoftware.com/lprecorder/lprecorder.aspx . (Audacity, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ , works much the same way as LP Recorder. However the drop down menus for the source and output are available from the main program with the default toolbars enabled.)

I hope this helps.

Hi. I bought a new Acer computer last spring. I have no difficulties recording sound from the Inet, but if I try to record with a mic, I can hardly hear what I recorded.

Hello, If you're using Windows XP you can go to the small speaker icon in the taskbar and double click on it, coose the menu options and choose Advanced controls, you'll be able to see a button under the MIC slider, click on it and then check Mic boost, click the close button and you're done, please don't hesitate to ask again if you are using vista or windows 7, have a nice day :)

Hello,

I hope you are using windows vista.

Go to start menu of your computer, scroll to control panel and click it.

From control panel, look for Windows Update Icon and double click it. You would see Install windows up date from there.

Or click start ,menu, under search, type "Windows update" and press enter, it will automatically take you to windows update. Use this method as well, if you are using win xp.

Good luck.

Need drivers for windows 7 for my sony icd p620 cannot find anywhere

This IC Recorder is not compatible with the Windows 7, Vista and Macintosh Operating Systems and at this point of time, there are no Drivers available.
However, you can transfer the files by connecting the Headphone OUT of the IC Recorder to the LINE IN of the Computer. Then, use any Sound Recording Software. You can also use the Sound Recorder Software that is pre installed in the Windows Operating System.
