Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post!
If you are receiving an error code PAUSE, it commonly indicates that the door of your washer is not securely latched or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume cycle. If these basic troubleshooting tips prove ineffective, try reprogramming your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is best to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your washer. If the issue persists, then your washer could possibly have a faulty door latch or experiencing a communication error with the control board. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose your washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.
SOURCE: Won't Star keeps flashing Pause and Err
that was just happening a few seconds ago with mine and i just tried pusing the control button and the options button at the same time for a few seconds... i reopened the door and pressed start again...it's running now... good luck
SOURCE: keep stopping pausing
If you leave the machine to itself, will it go through the whole wash satisfactorily? If it does, then the start and stop is designed into it. What it is doing is stopping and reversing the washing action. That is so the clothes will not wind up in a long rope shape, like the winding up of a towel like you use to do to a towel to snap your bother or sister in the showers or at the pool. It UNWINDS the load... It goes a few turns one way, then pauses, then a few turns the other way and pauses. Hope this helps.....

Same for us,,,
We have to turn the dial and try to put it back approximately at the same place on the dial
(turning clokwise 360 degrees)
Sorry this is the best solution I could find

SOURCE: Error / Pause Affinity ATF7000
I had the issue with my Affinity ATF7000 washer displaying err pause err pause .... clicking any button would give me 3 beeps and lights would flash but would get no real error message. Repair man wanted to replace entire computer for $250 plus service call rate. So by dumb luck I did this and got it working. 1. Unplug washer 2. Take off top (screws on back) 3. Unplug connector to the pressure sensor (carefully). Looking at the washer it is mounted to the right side near the front and looks round when looking at it from the top. 4. Plug in the washer and it should display E31. E31 is just saying it cannot communicate with the pressure sensor (which makes sense because you unplugged it). 5. Unplug washer and reconnect pressure sensor. 6. Put top back on and plug in washer. 7. Washer should work but E31 error will remain in memory so if you do call a repair man he may think the pressure sensor needs to be replaced. There is a way to clear error codes but I could not get it to work. This is my theory on why it worked. The computer program on the washer is stuck in a loop that will not allow the washer to function. When we unplug the pressure sensor we give it a real error and it exits the loop it is stuck in. I am a programmer by day so this may not make sense to some.
