Our Imperia fryer pilot lights shuts of once the temp reaches 200 degrees

Hi, I am suposing that this fryer has worked good in this location before. If not, check to make sure it is set up right for your gas supply. (LP-Nat) There is something wrong with the gas - air flow in your unit. Look for obvious things first like exhaust being blocked, Flame dancing out side of fire area, Pilot too small, Build up of debris in fire box. The pilot should be able to be adjusted at the gas valve if it is too small. I believe you problem could be taken care of best with a good cleaning of the burner, fire box and pilot assemble. Make sure that all burner holes are clean especially around the pilot light. Check for oily debris inside the fire box to make sure its not leaking into the fire area. If you are unable to do this yourself, contact some one either in the restaurant equipment service business or heating and air conditioning business. your problem is the thermostat is bad.the reason it shuts down is that it trips the hi limit.the hi limit is a saftey device that shuts the system down so the oil doesnt get too hot and catch on fire.remove all the oil from the tank and you should see 2 skinny metal bulbs one is the hi limit bulb the other is the t-stat bulb,make sure they are secured to the bracket.if the t-stat bulb isnt you will also have this issue,simply reattach it.let me know.

try to change the thermal battery the device that the pilot heats.. other wise there is a screw at the botton of the automatic valve.. try to increase the pilot so it can heat more the thermal battery! u dont have enough voltage to activate the solenoid valve so thats why ur pilot goes off

Hello. It is hard to say exactly what is going on, but here it goes. First, are you sure it is getting to temp? use a thermometer. if so, then, you could have a weak hi limit, tripping at 350 or 375, instead of 450. Do you have to reset it? or let it cool down? or does it light right back up. If not, then you probably have a weak thermopile, not producing the correct millivoltage ( less than half of a AAA battery ), it normally is 450 to 750 millivolts.You can test this with a multimeter, one side to the thick copper wire coming from the pilot, and the other at one of the hi-limit wires, DC voltage please. Grease could be on/in any of the aforementioned components, causing a poor connection, with less than half an AAA battery, it does not take much to cause a problem. A dirty pilot, or low gas pressure could also cause a problem.
