SOURCE: IBM Selectric II typewriter stuck in correcting position

If you know how to remove the right dust cover (black inside the T/W below the carrier) next to the R. side frame is the correction set up mech. spray some WD40 on the arms especially where they pivot, they should free up.

Wheelwriter 30 paper advance

The paper release lever may be in the release mode. try holding the left platen knob and pulling lightly on the paper is should not allow the paper to move freely, if it is ok try holding the left knob and turning the right knob in the direction you would to turn the paper in it may have come loose if so turn it all the way back in do not over tighten it your machine does not click when the platen is turned it uses electronics to hold the platen on line.

IBM Wheelwriter 6 Typewriter - while typing, characters just quit printing on paper. Checked ribbon, machine etc. Everything checked out?? What could be the problem.

It is probably the print solenoid that has a broken cap. I have seen a few advertisers that sell the repair kit with instructions. It is fairly simple to repair.

Someone used the typewriter and hit some code in error.

If it is in the delay print mode it will print when you hit ret. If this is not the case you probably need a print solenoid cap, they are available but a little tricky to install.

PAPER FEED

You probably have a keyboard problem. With the T/W turned on tap the space up key and the micro up & down keys if they space without pressing them you may need a keyboard. If you find the offending key try popping off the key top this may get you by for a while.
