If you have water leaking onto the cover just under the pollen filter, then the result will be... Windscreen misting up, water eventually building up on the floor underneath the passenger side footwell carpet. I found out why! The water which pours off the windscreen makes its way down into the bulkhead and should find its way out somewhere between the wheel arch and the wheel arch protector. Trouble is that the small rubber grommet that allows this to happen, gets choked up with leaves etc, then the water backs up and eventually seeps into the foot wells. To fix this you will need to... Remove the front wheel, remove the wheel arch protector ( about 15 screws + 2 plastic nuts. You will then gain access to the rubber grommet. Beware that when you remove it there will be an almighty gush of water and debris from the build up in the bulkhead. I just discarded the grommets from both sides as they would just cause the blockage to recur. Replace everything in reverse order. After about 4 weeks of the interior drying out, no more misting up or foisty smells... job done!
Could be the pipe on the fire wall that drains the water out is plugged up or not attached from the inside, get it fixed asap or you will have black mold in your car it can make u sick.

Sun roof drain may be disconnected or clogged( this is the most likely cause). It is found behind the trim on the upper half of the back pillar. I have also seen where the sunroof frame itself cracked causing the leak, only way to really see that is to lower the headliner a little and inspect for dripping water while spraying the top with water
Can not be water pump, because that has a vent hole to the outside, and does not at all allow access to crankcase or cylinders. Oil cooler is also unlikely because oil is under more pressure than the water, and it would not get into the cylinder. Water in the cylinder means up high. That means head gasket or cracked head. You can tell with a leak down test. You borrow the gauge from a place like Autozone, and replace the water reservoir cap with it. Over pump it, about 30 psi. And watch for leaks. If same cylinder keeps filling, then you know where the bad gasket or head crack is. Diesels often crack heads. Not hard to do, but new head is not cheap. Probably $500 for part, $400 labor.
the spare tire is located at the rear luggage compartment floor, just lift the cover and there you will see spare.it sits inside the rear floor.heres a diagram picture of the rear where the spare sits. hope this helps.
Try underneath passenger side rear doors, inside the frame. If you gonna replace it yourself make sure you take off gas cap to relieve pressure from fuel system,if not it will spray you bad.
the water can travel along surfaces or beams in the car so you cannot tell where it is actually leaking. in my ford windstar water leaked in right over the fuse box. it ran along a cross beam from the passenger side. if it has those plastic strips they use to go in between small gaps in the metal... like along the roof where the roof is and the metal of the sides joins it is likely they are leaking. best to take a garden hose and have someone inside the car with a flashlight on the floor looking for leaks
where your battery sits look inside there maybe some twigs and leaves blooking the drainage holes look all along there i had similar problem on vw passat no arm in looking hope this helps?good luck
