Can you not control it by setting the number of rings before answering very high on the device you DO NOT want picking up the call?

Unless there is a jack available marked "answering machine" , you will have to plug your answering machine into a separate jack with the same phone number as the ct100

Do you have the caller ID service? Call your phone service provider to verify, if you have it it should read the called info automatically.

How do I get message off the phone?

Immediately eyeball the display after installing a new battery, for it will offer choice of language.

When a call is received it will automatically set the time and date. To change the display contrast hold down the 'delete' button while toggling one of the other buttons. Hold the delete button down until the 'select,mem,mode' is displayed and choose between '25 name & number' or '64 numbers' . Make sure the batteries are good and the batt indicator in top left corner of display is off. I think that is all the features this early model unit was capable of.
