This bike has got to be 20 years old. It still works beautifully, including the electronic display, but I can't make the tension on the peddling increase. It seems the tension wire is not connected to anything underneath. Anybody have an instruction manual, or have an idea what part is missing? is it wired to the cog, or something else? We want to give it away to a Senior Center, but we have to make sure it works first!
20 years old! wow vintage ha well it is actually connected my friend but ur bike is well a little oldy for more resistance u see as the bike gets older the wire to provide the tension losses its tension factor or rather its ability to provide tension like our tendons and ligaments so my friend either change the wire if u can or better change the bike lol
There are three main types of resistances, the fan resistance used
to provide resistance with air they push as you pedal. The second type is the
belt resistance which uses a belt that runs through a brake providing
resistance for the exercise bikes. The third type is the magnetic exercise bike
which provides resistance which can easily be adjusted while riding the bike.
