There is no Transaxle level dipstick in the 3.4L Equinox engine. Chevrolet states in the owners manual that it is a zero maintenance item.
There is a bolt serviced, fill hole on the side of the transaxle case that doubles as the max fill level point where your mechanic can check the fluid level and color / smell for diagnostic purpose.
With my particular Equinox, regardless of the zero maintenance aspect of the transaxle, I plan to replace the fluid and filter at 150k miles for peace of mind.

Should be a red handled dipstick on the left hand side of the motor. Not all car's have the dipstick, many types, you have to go underneath, find the upper fill plug on the tranny, remove the plug, and reach your finger inside and you should feel the fluid at the top of the hole.
