Question about Brother XL2600 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Why is my machine squeaking when I sew

I have checked and cleaned the bobbing casing and all clear. Seems to be coming from the main shaft of the machine. I'm thinking maybe it's just overworked! No service engineers where I live so I need to carry out any maintenance myself.

3. Clean the shuttle race of any lint or small particles of thread with a small brush.

SOURCE: my needle on my brother CS-100 sewing machine

before you do that, make sure that the machine is threaded correctly. often when the needle is threaded from the wrong side, the thread is wrapped around the top wheels incorrectly, or the bobbin is not threaded right, it will cause the needle to get jammed in the bobbin. however, if this does not work, check their hotline and ask the maker what you should do. you can also go to a local sewing machine store and have them take a look at it.

SOURCE: My Brother pc-420 (Project Runway)

I would call Brother at 1-800-276-8437 and complain that you took it in to their authorized service center and the problem is even worse. I would try for a new machine or them to send you a call tag to fix it themselves. A machine only a year old should not have that kind of problem. Be assertive and not afraid to speak up. You deserve better service.

I have a singer Fashion mate 7256 and when I turn the machine on E 4 comes on the screen. I have looked in my book buy can't find any information on this code! Can you help m

E4 is a bobbin shaft error I believe. In order to clear the message, you need to clean the bobbin case and turn the machine on and off.

Also check the bobbin winder shaft. If it is pushed over when you try to run the machine you may get the error.

My Janome Memory Craft 3600 is locking up and it seems like the main shaft is freezing. Can it be fixed to stop locking up?

check around the bobbin carrier area for fluff and tangled bits of thread
they get tight as they are wound around the shaft and jam between the moving bits acting like a brake
remove all threads and clean and lubricate the area

MY THREAD GETTING WRAPPED AROUND THE BOBBING WHEN TRYING TO SEW THE TOP THREAD WRAPPING AROUND THE BOBBING CASE AND DRAGGING CAUSING THE TOP THREAD TO BREAK ?

It sounds like the lower shuttle is out of place. You should be able to take out the bobbin case and unlatch the shuttle. It will probably be in 2 pieces. Clean out the dust behind it and replace the shuttle pieces. You may have to fiddle with it a little to get them back in place. Then you can test it by manually turning the wheel. Make sure the bobbin is placed into the bobbin case and that the bobbin turns in the direction that you pull the thread.

Good luck.

Motor seized up

Try turning the handwheel. If it's very difficult to turn it's almost certain that the bearings on the main drive shaft need to be cleaned and re-greased. Stitching problems may relate to other adjustments required (e.g.: clearance between the needle and hook). In any case, a sewing machine repair person will be able to solve these problems. This is not a do-it-yourself project.

E6 message on brother CS 6000i

Needle Position Sensor is disconnected
This sensor detects the drive timing for the pulse motor for
zigzagging and feed, the vertical stop position for the needle. It
detects the upper shaft angle of rotation using a shutter attached
to the upper shaft and an optical sensor.

I have the TS-380 plus; I press on the foot to get the machine to sew, but the machine doesn't sew, it just seems to "rev" but nothing happens. Your suggestions? Thank you!

Locate the motor on the back of the machine and check the drive belt. Check the tension. if this is ok check to see if the motoe pulley has come loose on the motor shaft. If this is the case you will need to tighten the screw in the pulley to make it grip the shaft. Hope that is of help.
