You will need to have a 115 curent for electric, run a line off the panel box, turn off water to the house drain it down, disconnect the lp gas line and cap it off, remove the water heater, install the new heater run the cold side water to the cold side {blue on the heater} the hot side to the red, take the cover plate off on the water heater run the wires, hook up the groung wire then the red and white wires to the wires comming off the panel box,, fill the water heater with water have a open faucet on the hot side, and bleed the air out, DO NOT TURN ON ELECTRIC TILL THE AIR IS OUT OF TANK AND WATER IS FLOWING THRU COMPLETELY, after you get water commming out of the faucet turn it off and turn the electric on to the water heater ,, wait about 30 min, you will have warm after an hour it will be hot and you are done,, good luck write me if you have questions, [email protected]

I do not have specific answer.

Open following links to identify product, download service guide and download manual for the different model numbers, plus parts list and other resources:

Page 3-4 of following manual shows switch settings for LP gas.
On-line manual can be word-searched for 'switch.'
This water heater has remote switch, which is the switch you are talking about. It also has limit switch and ECO (energy cut-off switch)

Hot water tap creates an annoying noise in the mh. The noise is coming from the Atwood hot water heater. (2007 Coachmen Mirada).

Like a buzzing noise? Check valve where water lines connect at back will make a buzzing noise, if you only hear it when running hot water and not when running cold. Remove and replace it after shutting water off, and draining tank down. Be sure to shut off any hydro to electric element prior to draining. You can buy a replacement check valve, or just put a short 1/2" pipe nipple in there instead and reconnect your line, and refill it. noise should be gone .

I have a Atwood 10 gallon electric/ propane water heater on the Hornet travel trailer I purchased used. There are two switches on the wall, one is an on/off switch that lights up and the oither is just an...

The two switches control the water heater either in the gas or electric mode. The switch with the lights would be for the gas operation, and the switch without lights would be for the electric mode. Prior to operating either switch, make sure the water tank is full of water. Turn your hot water tap on, if water comes out, tank is full. Connect trailer to 110 Volt source, turn circuit breakers on, Place switch without lights to on position. If water does not heat in 45 minutes, Install new heat proble. The gas mode should be repaired by someone that is familiar with that system. Atwood can provide you with a local service center.

When gas switch on an atwood water heater is turned on, the electric switch blinked and unit doesn't light

It usually only lights when starting up on propane, or if it didn't ignite for one reason or another. Usually light off indicates working o.k. Are you sure the electric element hasn't been on and water is heated already? Carefully open pressure relief valve slightly and see if water is hot or cold.

Does yours have the little cut-out diode looking thing in the plastic jacket installed between power wire and thermostat? If yes, remove it from the circuit and connect female spade of wire, to male spade of thermostat,(just removing it to by-pass it) and try it now. Let me know what happens.
