Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.

SOURCE: troy built weed eater won't feed line

Check the size of the line,(OD), make sure you are using the correct size, sometimes cheap line will be problematic, also, you said you are re-stringing it, try a new batch of string, the old string inside the hub can get chaffed and will stick to itself...

SOURCE: Troy built weedeater 70ss gas engine will not run

The needle and seat (esp. the needle) meter the amount of gas/oil that is being allowed into the metering chamber of the carb for use by the engine. Your problem does seem fuel related. These carbs are very temperamental and scare most folks. A guide to how they work can be found here: www.zamacarb.com/pdfs/TechGuide_2007.pdf
This will give you an understanding of what exactly you are dealing with. You may only require a diaghram kit or rebuild kit to get the carb back to the functionality it was designed for. That info can be found here once you know your carbs exact model number.
http://www.m-and-d.com/zama_carburetor.html
A troubleshooting guide for these carbs is included in the first pdf file, look it over maybe and see what you think. Post back maybe later after going to school (doesn't hurt to learn how they work). We will be here. I know you want to use this machine (its the growing season) but there are so many things that can be wrong that it needs to be narrowed down...sounds like fuel starvation and just may need to clean the inside of the carb with something like the brake parts cleaner spray. It is non-flammable and doesn't damage the sensitive parts inside these carburetors the way ehanol and harsh carb/chokle sprays and strong solvents due...NEVER soak these carbs in a "Gunk style" carb cleaning tank....it will seriously damage sensitive internal parts and check valves!

SOURCE: have a troy built tb

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor. Sounds like you have gotten some trash in the cauburetor, check your fuel container to see if more trash is in it.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.
Please do not forget to rate me,
Thanks
Good Luck,
I hope this helped

SOURCE: Tryingto replace my troy built weed eater's head

clean grass off between shaft and the top of the head. hold weed eater still and turn the head, looking between the shaft and the top of the head. There will be what looks like a hole. Place something there that will keep the shaft from turning, then twist the head off.

Why won't my2012 suzuki king quad run but it idles

Carb needs cleaned. Once it gets cleaned or rebuilt always use non- Ethanol fuel. I have a 10 year old ATV and it has always had non-ethanol fuel and never has a problem. Use the same gas on your lawn mower,Weed Wacker, Rototiller and anything with a small motor. It will not gum up.

Craftsman weed wacker will start and run

Are you sure you have the right fuel mixture? Many of these require 2 Cycle oil to be added to the gas. If fuel is right, you may have a vacuum leak at the carb (or crack in base where it mounts to the engine). My weedwacker needed to be run on half choke for about 10 min before it got hot enough to run with choke off.

Rope on my troy bilt weed wacker is stuck want pull

It sounds like the engine seized up which means the piston is stuck to the cylinder wall. This could be do to a poor fuel to oil mixture, not enough oil mixed with the gasoline. They are not worth repairing

Hard start tb475ss troy built weed wacker when i close the cold start lever it starts but its 75 degrees out its like the primer ball is inop but i see fuel moving through the lines when priming did not...

These 4 cycle trimmers need to be primed 10x before a cold start. The bulb will feel *firmer* on the last two or three depressions and you'll know that the carb is primed.

Full choke and and full throttle on first tug should see it hit once with a puff of smoke. Second start attempt should be in choke position two (half choke) and with full pressure on the throttle. Should rev to life on start attempt. Let the engine IDLE for 30 seconds, moving the choke to off at the end of the waiting period. Let engine idle to warm another full minute with no choke, then set to work!

You probably are looking at the 0.08" diameter that's just a bit smaller than the 3/32". Hope this helps....

Redmax weed wacker wont stay running

Have these unit been stored with fuel in them or sitting around for a long period of time? If so the carbs may need to be overhauled. Also check for a clogged fuel filter and vacuum test the fuel lines for cracks.
