Why isthe fan on my new panasonic Genius over the range microwave is noisy NN-SD277

Check to see if the vent is not jamming the motor. It could be something fell into the fan blabes. It could be a noiy motor and this would be a warranty issue.

GE Microwave Profile Spacemaker Runs on its own

Your microwave turning on by itself is a "self preservation feature" of the GE Profile Advantium and maybe some other models. Read the manual, When your over the range oven gets warm enough, for whatever reason the venting fan comes on until a satisfactory oven temperature is reached. You are not permitted to shut the vent fan off. Also it seems a temperature near room temp must be achieved before it shuts the fan motor off, it is very annoying. We had to return our Advantium because of fan noise. I configured the ovens vent fan to the recirculate direction because we do not have a vent duct that exits the house over our range. When the vent fan acting as the ovens cooling fan automatically turned on we would have to leave the house to hear each other talk. Too bad we really liked the oven other than that major problem. Exaust vent/ fan very weak

In your duplicate post, you mentioned your model, so here you go:

This is due to poor air flow, either to a blockage or a problem with the internal cooling fan or hood vent exhaust fan.

Are the grease filters or charcoal filter clogged?

You may want to check your owner's manual for info on checking the filters. Grease filters can be cleaned, but charcoal filters must be replaced about every 6-12 months.

The installation manual will tel you if there's some error in the installation setup.

You can download Maytag owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Yes, It sounds like the control board needs to be repaired.

We regularly repair these control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week in most cases.

At our site, we now have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Frigidaire PLMV169cd Microwave Exaust Fan Hums but wont run

Do you mean the hood vent fan? (That would be a large assembly a little smnaller than a loaf of bread, I guess)

If it's this one, I would suggest you check the big starting capacitor on the circuit board and the connections on that cap.

Or do you mean the cooling fan inside, which would be small enough to basically fit in your hand?

In either case, I would measure the line voltage to be sure it's in the 110-125VAC range.

If it's grossly outside this range, you may have a problem with other electronics or light bulbs bblowing or being dim or erratic.

One handy thing about Whirlpools is that behind the control panel they have a mini-manual which is very useful in troubleshooting.

It may be that you have some toruble on your control board, which we repair for customers nationwide.

Please write back with more details if you need further help.
