TomTom is selling the voices, but I know at least 100 different voices in lots of languages are around on the net. There are even descriptions how to record your won voice, make little files from it and place that as a voice in TomTom. Im affraid it is not legal to send any of the voices TomTom is selling. So you have to Searcy for yourself. If I ever fine a link I will post it.

The voice on my garwin nuvi 1300 gps stopped working and it is not mutted

Either the voice file is corrupted or not selected.
1. To select a new voice:
  • Press TOOLS (Bottom right corner of the screen with WHERE TO and VIEW MAP)
  • Press SETTINGS
  • Press LANGUAGE
On this screen there are 3 items including VOICE. Press VOICE and select ENGLISH if it's not already selected. If that doesn't solve the problem the English voice file is probably corrupted and needs to be downloaded again.
2. To replace the corrupted voice file:
  • Download and install, to your computer, the latest version of WEBUPDATER from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
  • Connect your satnav to your computer and run the webupdater program.
  • It will find any updates to the satnav operating system. Select all and install them.
  • When the updates are installed webupdater will find optional updates including voice files. Select some of the English voice files and download them.
When they are downloaded safely disconnect your satnav and re-start it. You will then need to select one of the voices you downloaded as described in paragraph 1 above. This should solve your problem.

Nuvi 700 lost its voice. How can I get it back?

Check that the volume is not down or muted. If not either the voice file is corrupted or not selected.

I got the garmin 1490T because it was supposed to have voice support for korean but in the options, it does not show up. For some reason the it only shows up to French (julie's voice) and I cant...

The voice on my garmen nuvi 215 just vannished. it says can't find voice. how can i get the voice back

The voice file may have been corrupted.

1. To select a new voice file.
  • Press TOOLS (the spanner symbol at bottom right of screen showing WHERE TO and VIEW MAP)
  • Press SETTINGS (spanner symbol) or LOCALE on models that don't have a SETTINGS icon
  • Press LANGUAGE (the lips icon)
  • Press VOICE and select another voice from an English speaking country.
If this does not solve the problem you can download new voices.

2. To download them;
  • First download and install the latest version of WEBUPDATER on your computer from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
  • Connect your satnav to your computer and run WEBUPDATER. This will update your satnav software and when it's finished it will give you the option to download optional extras including voices. Select the ones you want and they'll be downloaded to your satnav.
After you have disconnected your satnav from your computer you'll need to select a voice again as in paragraph 1 above.

I WANT CHANGE THE VOICE

Voice stopped working, How do I restore it? 265WT

1.Press the volume, (Speaker symbol) and ensure that it's not muted. If it is press the mute box to untick it.
2. If that's not the problem press Tools, then press Settings, then press Language. Press Voice and select a voice.
That may solve the problem. If not it may be that the voice file is corrupted and needs to be downloaded again.
3. To download the voice file connect your satnav to your computer. Download and install webupdater from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 When it's installed it will look for updates to the software. When it's finished it'll give you an option to download voices. Tick the ones you want and click next. The voices will be downloaded to your satnav. When it's finished an you have disconnected the satnav you'll need to select a voice again as described in paragraph 2 above.
