Loud buzzing sound on Sanyo AVM 1909

I had a problem like that so I disabled the tv's onboard tuner (input source)and now we use the cablebox's video and audio out to the video and video in jacks on the TV this will work as long as you have a cable box or sat reciever for your video and audio source and of course your TV must have video and audio inputs so it will work.

Good luck Rich

I have a older sanyo ds19390 tv that is buzzing inside, not thru speakers please help

In older tvs the buzzing sound usualy comes from the HT lead plugged into the tube .open the back and switch the tv on (do not touch anyware near the set the HT lead carries avery high voltage even when the set is off)if u do see arching then u need to clean around the rubber of the ht lead )u can leave the set unplugged for a couple of days to allow the tube to discharge before attempting to clean around it.

Component R601 (a relay) is chattering/buzzing. Sometimes stops after set has warmed. What is the function of this relay? Can I wire around it? The set is Sanyo DS19390.

The relay is used for degaussing the screen(demagnetizing). Don't bypass that or you will have some problem. That relay is suppose to come on only for a few seconds then turn off. Relay coils run on smooth DC. If the supply to the coil has a fluctuating voltage it will do that. The cause of this is usually a bad filter capacitor, or a leaking semiconductor, either a diode or a transistor. Trace the circuit to see what drives the coil. Check any filtering capacitor connectec in parallel, and also perform a "go/no go' test on any semiconductor that drive that coil. You tube has video instruction on "go/ no go" test. It is better explained with a video.

Television problems

Have the speakers ever been played loudly? They may have been pushed passed their capacity, in which case, it may be time for a new tv.

That set is probably not ready for the dump yet. The buzzing sound could be the power supply going into shutdown because of a shorted secondary supply, usually a shorted horizontal output. A good tech should be able to fix that at a reasonable price.
