Hey there, welcome to Fixya! The above answers were pretty helpful, did you fix your problem with them? Did you check the manual for further instructions? You can find a PDF copy here: Bosch Classixx 5 Manual

Here are the symptoms: - Wash cycle seems ok but can not be sure. When complete the rinse commences but am unaware what happens next. This is what I have done Started washing clothes and waited for cycle to end(!) or problems start. Switched off and set program knob to rinse. At this point I select spin and after a while the water starts to empty. When a sufficient amount has emptied I stop the spin (no spinning has began), and set the knob to wash again. This now allows clean water to rinse the clothes and when I think it has rinsed enough I set the knob to off then spin again until all the water has emptied. When the drum is empty the spin cycle should continue but does not. What happens is there is a clunking sound and the activity light goes out again, when it comes back on the machine tries to start the spin again and the sequence is repeated.

Plug
off the wall first. Remove the front
lower panel, screws underneath. Be
prepared for water, drain out from drain hose.
Check filter for clogging, clean out.
Sometimes when the load is unbalanced & the machine cannot adjust
the load it stops. To avoid this make
sure your wash is mixed with big and small clothes.
If
this does not work remove the rear panel & check belt, should have half
inch ‘give’. Still not good, remove belt,
unscrew 2 bolts that hold the motor, unplug the motor connector, lever the
motor back with a screwdriver. Check the
motor brushes (at terminal end of motor), if they are any shorter than 1 cm
replace brushes.

Hello David,
Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description you likely have a clogged drain pump/filter.
Here`s how to check since that would be the first logical place to start.
1) **Turn off the power or unplug the cord from the dryer or wall...ehichever applies to your set-up...safety first**
2) Water removal...remove toe panel. There you will find a small hose with a plug in the end for draining the pump.
3) Now bleed pump drain...A shallow pan is handy for this step.
3) remove pump filter, but be careful if you don't have a shop-vac or a shallow pan and towels you may get wet...
*Once you`ve reached this point you may have trouble removing the filter if it is really plugged up with debris. You might have to wiggle it back and forth as you twist and pull.
4) When you get the filter out, visually inspect inside the pump thoroughly with a flashlight and clean it out really well. It won`t take much to prevent these from draining. i.e. a penny, hair pin, buttons etc.
Let me know if you found anything in the pump and how you make out after that.
If you removed any obstruction, simply reassemble the unit making sure the filter is screwed in tight, run a quick rinse cycle to test for leaks before putting the toe panel back on and you should be good to go...save for any leaks.
There are other possible factors that can prevent the unit from draining or spinning out items properly, but we`ll cross that bridge when and if we get there.
Thank you for choosing FixYa, keep me posted on your situation.
