I am having problems with our daughter's tv. The volume isnt working now even though the picture is fine?

I got this telly for my daughter and it has worked for over a year fine. Now the volume doesn't work. I've tried to mute and unmute, turned it right up and down and still nothing.

Have you looked at the headphone jack? Sometimes a set is left plugged in and sound wil not come out of speakers.

Also, look at cable box. It can sometimes have a separate volume control.

last, if you plug in a set of headphones and you hear sound, pick up a pair of inexpensive powered speakers and use those.

SOURCE: white line horizontially through middle of picture

A repair like this is in the vertical drive/output section of the TV set. It could be a simple capacitor causeing this problem or a combination of the capacitor and the output IC. A repair like this should not exceed 120 to 150 US. Is it worth that to you? How much can you replace it for? Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.

SOURCE: tv will not turn on when you press the main power button

I think the ploblem should be the horizontal output that may be shot circuting working voltage,
apperently if you are not a qualify technician I recomend that you seek the help of such technician

SOURCE: lcd tv light flashing but no picture or sound

If you removed power by turning off power itself to the set instead of turning it off by turning the set itself off---that is not a good thing to do.

When power is restored a surge can and likely hit the power supply in your set---time for a tech or shop to open it---I suspect they will find the standby or main power supply is damaged or now bad.

My volume don't work

I too have the same problem but have misplaced the original converter. If you have one, try using that for volume. Even the volume button on TV will not work. Looks like your cable connection is ok. Anything else connected to this tv like PVR, ?

These units are close enough to the warranty end period that I would suggest that you contact Sanyo and Sony requesting warranty service. Talk to a supervisor and be persistant. It may take a few calls.

Why is there no picture on my xbox only sound

hi, you can try unplugging the lead from your telly and also from your xbox then with your xbox switched off at mains plug them back in make sure you push it into the telly far enough as this could be your problem also make sure its fitted in xbox properly the problem is usually the telly end so make sure this is fitted correctly, then switch it on and see if it is now working, if it isnt then the chances are your going to need a new lead, if the problem was with the xbox then you would have no sound as well so the problem points towards the lead being at fault.

Also make sure the telly is on the correct channel

TV Volume goes up by itself and remote wont work

Hi,

There are 2 reasons that this is happening in respect to the problem commencing after your daughter has cleaned the tv. Either your daughter has sprayed the volume button with cleaner and fluid has got into the the graphite pad under the button and conducting as though the button is being pressed continuously..or she has put too much pressure on the button if it is a metallic plate contact switch. One way to find out is by pressing the down volume button.does it it click ? if it does.try the up volume..If that doesnt click the problem is the metallic plate is dented in making contact hence a new switch. Another cause ive seen is cleaning the remote control with cleaner and fluid has got into the remote and it sends signals to the tv all the time..If the remote control is hidden under a cushion and the problem stops, then the remote control is at fault and needs drying out..Hope this helps :)

TEAC Television -CT-M809AV -no picture

Maybe it's something with NTSC/PAL settings, or SOURCE SELECT. Check troubleshooting in your manual.
