This is a low shank 5mm front load machine so yes there is a side cutter available. This will not replace having a serger by any stretch of the imagination

How do I use the thread cutter?

Most of the time, you will sew a seam and then do a few stitches after pressing the Reverse button. Leave the presser foot down and press the button with the scissor icon. (That's the top-most button in the row that curves up from the needle area.) The LED will blink. If the thread cutter LED blinks when you turn on the sewing machine, press the button again. The machine will remember if the thread cutter was in use when the power went off. For some thick threads, the auto-thread cutter will not work. Instead you'll need to lift the presser foot and bring the item up to the thread cutter on the side of the sewing machine. It's towards the back of the side of the sewing machine near the needle.

You can even program in the thread cutter in memorized sewing pattern by selecting pattern 48 and pressing the M button after all the other stitches for the pattern are added to the program.

Do remember to clean the thread cutter regularly. Lint or thread buildup will interfere with the mechanism. The cleaning steps are on page 61 of the manual.

Janome has the instruction book for the Memory Craft 6300P on the product page: http://janome.com/en/machines/sewing/6300p/ . The direct link to the manual is http://janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/professional-series/inst-book-6300peng-fr-sp.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How do i thread a janome sewing machine model 344?

Hi
I couldn't find a manual on the Janome site for the machine you have but I did find this one for a similar looking machine. It should be enough to get your started on how to thread your machine and what the different parts are for.

I've just got janome 634d serger, how can i make the bottom of a T-shirt ? Thank you so much

If you want the bottom of the T to look like RTW with the double row of stitching, you cannot do this on a serger.

You can achieve the effect by using a twin needle, two spools of thread, bobbin and a straight stitch.

Make sure the double/twin needle will pass through the presser foot and opening in the needle plate below the presser foot.

Practice on a double layer of a scrap of the T shirt material as the tension may need to be slightly looser than the normal setting.

I want to find the right walking foot for the Janome 344

Janome has an even feed foot for their machines. Any janome dealer should carry them.
