Samsung HLR5667wx/xaa. Power surge took out tv. Replaced bulb and the bulb works, but tv wont come on and lamp light is flashing.

I am thinking the electronics store may have given me the wrong bulb as I took in the housing assembly. I had the lamp, ballast and pcb power replaced two years ago. The bulb lights up and gets hot, but the tv doesn't have a picture. It did when I first installed the new bulb, but then it went to frozen pic and then off with the lamp light flashing again.

If you have house insurance you might be better off making a claim if it covers for power surges, i always use a power surge protector in line just in case. Sounds like something else has possibly fried other than what you have replaced, not too sure but i bet the parts are expensive, sorry i can't help. Only thing i can think is to try resetting everything back to default factory settings, maybe the TV isn't recognizing you have replaced the parts for some reason and still holding the old error code, thats the only thing i can think of other than something else being broke in their.

Hello, it sounds like the color wheel may have failed. Was there any noises, like a high pitch sound before it went out? If the color wheel isn't turning at proper speed, the set won't start up by shutting down the lamp protection circuit.

Sounds like you've already gotten into the repairs. The three major things that fail on DLP are the bulb, the ballast and the color wheel. If your bulb is new and you aren't getting anywhere, replace the ballast, if that is still a no go, then move on to the color wheel. If replacing those three doesn't fix the problem, you will have to whip out the multimeter and start looking for problems on the PSB. You can get a ballast on ebay for about $100. Start there. The color wheel should be very freely moving. If something is grinding and hindering the movement at all, you need to replace it. That grinding may not seem like much but it is likely enough to keep the wheel from spinning at proper speeds. The sensor then kicks in and tells the brain that there is a problem and the brain keeps the ballast from firing the lamp.
Good luck.

Samsung HLS5687.Replaced lamp, turned on TV the light goes on turns off. The projector boards continues to beep then tv powers off. Color wheel does spin. Not sure what the beeping is.

Did you check the ballast for the lamp? It provides the high voltage/energy to excite the lamp (no filament) into operation. If it does not work properly neither will the bulb.

Great set - I have the 5685.

I have a samsung HLR6167WX/XAA dlp tv. I replaced the bulb, it worked for 1 day and didn't turn on the next day; no lights, no noises, nothing. So then I just replaced the ballast, still nothing.

Samsung model hlt4675sx\xaa projection tv wont work. the stand by/temp light flashes red and the lamp light flashes green? it makes the sound that it makes when it turns on but no picture. we looked at the...

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

Samsung hls4266wx/xaa tv. tv stays on for a minute, then shuts down Timer lamp flashes and temp standby

I put a lamp in to my Samsung HLS4266WX/XAA, but when I actually took it apart for the Bulb replacement which I have done twice now. I found where that switch is, that gets pressed when you have the back cover to the bulb screwed in was hanging, and I can get the new bulb and my replacement bulb to work for about 15 secs, and at one point it was working really good. Can anyone help me with this problem, cause Im getting frustrated. It seems like a simple fix,but its almost like the bulb I ordered is not as good as my other replacement bulb. Its from MWAVE.com, anyone heard anything about this company? Please help if you can, id really appreciate it.

My hlt4675sx/xaa won't power up. The Stand by/ temp light and the lamp light flash. The bulb id brand new.

First thing to do is look from back of set or area when lamp is: do you see the lamp come on for even a few seconds?

Also is the problem the exact same as before lamp Replaced?

Before set failed did you hear unusual fan like, high pitched whine or even grinding sound?

Depending on how you answer I will assist you.

My TV turns off by itself. It is a Samsung HlP6163W. Service Model HLP6163WX/XAA. The two green lights flash at the same time. I think it is overheating the bulb. How do I fix it.

Lamps don't really last very long typically 1 to 3 years depending. You may just need to replace the lamp. A burner gap of a lamp expands as the lamp warms up. If the gap is too large due to age (normal usage) the lamp will fail to light or shut down once the expansion occurs. The solutions to either problem is to replace the lamp.

Replacing the bulb in my samsung HLR5667WX DLP TV. I took off the small face plate on the back, but it looks like that bulb is locked in there 20 different ways and the space is small.

After removing the door lift the tab on the bottom of the plastic tunnel and pull it out. There is a philips screw on the left of the back lamp housing. Loosen it. There is a wire handle folded to the side . Pull it open and pull the lamp out. When you put the door back on be sure the tab on the door pushes the door switch downward or tv will keep shutting off when it warems up.
