Make sure to configure the wireless settings of your roku player matching the wireless settings of your router. You need to do manually, go to the network settings of your roku, go to wlan settings and edit the SSID and wireless security key

What steps do I take to configure my 2wire 2701 hg-b to connect directly by ethernet cable to my Directv HD DVR and pick up the dsl signal being transmitted by my primary westell router? Both are wireless...

Connect the cable at both ends and do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR. To test the connection, do thus: Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> test connection. If it shows not connected then "reset defaults" and run "connect now"
As a basic security feature the ATT DSL 2Wire 2701HG-B router/gateway requires you to enter its pre-assigned WEP key to connect beyond the unit itself and then to the internet. Since the Direct TV DVR HD24D only does a basic connection without having a place to enter the 2701HG-B WEP key it never actually reaches the internet.
The 2Wire 2701HG-B has the ability for one attached unit to "pass through" its firewall and internal security settings using a so called "DMZplus" mode. I set the HR24D DVR to such a mode within the 2Wire unit and the DVR connected with the internet flawlessly.

I use 2wire 1701 HG Gateway for 3 computers. I have been using a Plug and Play network with a password. My primary computer harddrive crashed. I had the drive replaced, but I have been unable to reconnect...

Hello hopefully ican hel solve your issue i have a 2wire modem myself ans have found that 2wire products are very picky. To answer your question for 2wire products when you try to connect wirelessly it wants you to type in the wep key which is the serial number of the product otherwise you are unable to connect. Now as far as losing your password if you are able to get into the 2wire product via browser so you can bring up the main software page you can try to see if you can get too any info that relates to resetting your info like username and password. Otherwise do a search for your product and search forums and you will most likely find someone that has had to recover there info and they will tell you how they do it. Good luck

2 wire 2700 hg-b

The 2Wire 2700 is a residential gateway, a modem and router in-one. There is an RJ-11 jack in the back of the gateway and this is where your dsl phone cord plugs in. There are four RJ-45 jacks in the back for connecting devices using ethernet cable. As a router is can operate both wirelessly and wired. For wireless operation you'll need the WEP key which is located on the tag on the bottom of the gateway. It's the number enclosed in brackets, between the two bar codes.

2wire 1701 HG Gateway wireless not working

Hi,

There could be a lot of possibilities why you lost your connections at the same time. Could be windows update or changes had been made in your 2wire 2701 HG.Its impossible to say that your wireless adapters turned bad all at the same time.As what you observed , wireless light is off meaning your 2wire doesnt detect any wireless connection. You can try reconnecting them 1 at a time by going to your wireless connection tool or network connections.

If that didnt help, you can use your PC w/c is connected using the USB connection. Using this step, you 'l have a chance to edit and view your wireless network. For you to access your 2wire you must know what your 2wire address {default gateway}. Using your hardwired pc go to start > run > type in cmd then hit enter > on the Dos command screen type in ipconfig and hit enter> youl see your default gateway . It would look like this 192.168.1.254 for example cos sometimes it would vary depending what ISP you have, Open your fav browser and on your address bar type in your default gateway. That would lead you to your 2wire page, there youl have a chnace to view you home network. Check if your wireless encryption and you network name if everything is still the same. {Best thing is to change your wireless name or SSID. Then try to reconnect on your wireless connection for each computer and make sure you have your wireless encryption.

Hope that helps. Pls let me know asap if you need clarifications.

Cheers.

2wire 1701 hg

If you want to setup wireless network then......
you need to config your router for wireless network..
for that you need to open router configuration page or either you can run the disc you got with your router..
in that it gives you an option of wireless network..
it will ask you to type in a network name ssid give any name you wish to your network..
it will also ask you to type in a password for network...
choose wpa-psk security and type any secure password in 8to 63 charactersand apply and once it's done...
now if you're on windows xp then click start>then control panel>network connections>then rt click wireless network connections and click view available wireless networks there you'll find your network name ssid in it select it and press connect..it will ask for your 8-63 characters password type in the same press connect it will say connected..
unplug ethernet cable and try opening pages ie..

If you're on vista then click start>connect to>rest is same as above...

the IP address must be different on the router & extender but use the same subnet mast. The extender has to have the gateway set as the IP address on the router.
