SOURCE: I have a New Balance 1400 treadmill (manufactured

The only weak spot on the main controller board is the small rechargeable battery or a lithium button cell.
The memory battery is to keep the parameter information.
When the battery is damaged the liquid (electrolytic) drips downward on to other electronic items.
Any items under the "drip" pathway will need to be inspected and clean.
The battery can be on the front or rear on the main board,

Spend some time to locate this battery,
A simple $12 item can stop the unit from operating!

Please email me the part number or spec, info on the battery on reply.

SOURCE: Yesterday while using the Schwinn

This is not sounding good. A reset normally would solve a problem with the logic on the circuit boards that control the unit, but that doesn't sound like it worked.

According to Schwinn, the troubleshooting procedure for a treadmill that won't turn on are as follows: Make sure the outlet is powered, it is plugged into the outlet, the device turned on by the switch and the safety key is in position. pretty elementary stuff - but I included it because that's what the manual says to do.

I can suggest the you try unplugging the power cord from the outlet for a minute or two, then plug back in & try to start the treadmill again. Sometimes that is the only way to be sure that there is no power reaching the circuit board(s) to perform a reset of the logic. If the circuit board(s) remain powered they can be "locked up" and will not allow normal operation of the device.

If unable to get the treadmill to run, you'll probably have to contact Schwinn Customer Support for assistance. You have a choice of ways to contact them as shown here.

I hope this got you going - or at least pointed you in a direction to get help. Please rate my reply. Thank you.

SOURCE: power is going into machine but console does not light up and work

If the console takesbatteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not requirebatteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch:Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mountedon the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into thefront roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointingdirectly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of themagnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected tothe console. clip_image001.gifOptic Sensor: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The optic diskand sensor are located either at the end of the motor or the right hand side ofthe front roller. The optic disk spins between two sensors on the optic switch. The disk must spin freely without touching either sensor. The sensors can bemoved by loosening the adjustment bolt holding the switch to its bracket. Theswitch can then be slid. Center the disk. 11_18_2011_6_53_40_pm.gif11_18_2011_6_54_25_pm.gif

T700 treadmill console not working. Plugged in & worked; reached 3mph & removed safety magnet. Console went black; won't come on. Power switch lights up; lower board led light shows power on.

The treadmill will not run if you remove the safety magnet. Replace the safety magnet and reset the treadmill. Should start working again.
Thanks.

The treadmill will sometimes start and most times will not, even though there is still power. Then I will be on and the belt will stop turning. I can move the incline level but that is all.

Hello,

With the motor cover off and the power on, make sure there is a red light/led lit on the controler, if yes then press the start button then press #3 on the speed side. If not lit, you dont have power to the controller. If you had a red light, and pressed the speed button, the light should start flashing just before the walk belt starts to move. If the speed button is pushed and the light on the controller does not flash, you have a problem in the console. This is only fixed by replaceing the controler.

Sorry.

Hope this was at least helpfull, Matt

My ten year old Health Rider s300i has no power when it is turned on. How much would it cost to replace the power pack and would it be worth the time and trouble to try and fix it.

First be sure there is power at the outlet. Check that the power switch is on, and the circuit breaker is not tripped (beside the power cord).
Remove the hood and inspect the wiring. (unplug the machine first). Ensure that all connectors are tight and none are burnt. At this point if all appears to be OK, look for lighted LEDs on the power PCB. If all is dark, replace the power PCB ( approx $100). If the LEDs are lit, you may require a console, or the safety key switch might be defective. To check it, the console must be removed and the console base removed. Inspect and test the micro switch.
The console is no longer available.

I have a sportcraft tx200 treadmill that will not power on, I have fliped the switch on by the supply power cord also. What are some potential problems?

Test for voltage going to the treadmill, if there is no power going to the treadmill then check the fuse or breaker in your house. If you already checked the house fuse/breaker then try this.

first thing is check for any loose connections or bad wiring and then follow the steps below to try and determine what is wrong with your treadmill.

* Check the breaker on your treadmill it can be combined with the on/off switch or it can be a separate breaker. Make sure it is not open.

* If that tests ok, check to see if your getting power to the motor controller(electronic board under the hood) this can be done by following the power cord in and testing where they attach, if you are getting 120/240 volts then check the light(s) on the controller If they are not lit then the controller is bad.
* If they are lit you will need to check the dc voltage going to the motor

* Also make sure you have voltage going to the console
if you have 8-12 vdc voltage to the console and the console is dead replace the upper control board.

* If only one or none of these voltages are present then the controller is bad.

* If your treadmill is equipped with a separate power board then you will need to take voltage readings going in and coming out from the board If nothing is present then the power board is bad. If all tests well move on to the controller.

* some motor controllers are equipped with a fuse on it, if this is blown the console will not light as well.

* Hopefully it is just a breaker.

* Make sure you are lubricating your treadmill as well on a regular basis. Too much friction can wear out electronic parts and reduce the life of your treadmill. Use the appropriate lubricant recommended for your specific model and never use an extension cord.

Thank you for the question and please feel free to contact me again with any questions or problems you may have.
