I have a 820S kenwood I purchased it from a pawn shop in California, I could not get the S meter to sense the incoming signal / I played with the connectors and the S meter started working. Well it quit again so I'm back to guessing incoming signals. Can you give me an idea to fix the problem.

What is your ham radio call sign? I rarely look at the s-meter. If you can hear the other station, you probably can work them. The s-meter is valuable when turning your directional antenna to locate the transmitting station better. If your antenna won't turn, call him anyway.

SOURCE: Kenwood TS-820s almost dead

Dear Stigw1:

I have your answer for you. I have the same unit which had a few problems. Sent it to this fellow I'm about to tell you about who works on NOTHING but the Kenwood hybrids such as the ones we have. He is amazing. He'll take your TS-820S and literally bring it back to BRAND NEW condition for you, just like it left the factory. His general repair price is $229.00 (US dollars) plus parts. If he doesn't have the part(s), he'll actually make them!! My radio was shipped to him in Sept. of '08 and it's now in the mail back to me (Jan '09). You pay shipping both ways. Go to this website and check it out... http://wwwk4eaa.com . His name is: Ken Kemski, 3745 Allenwood St., Sarasota, Florida 34232 (USA). His work is worth the money all day long. If this helps you, PLEASE let me know. -- 73's -- Johnny Downing - [email protected] Jan 2, 2009

SOURCE: Alinco DR-635. On two meters, there is no received audio.

I think your 2M section has a dead FET in the receiver front end. The FET transistors are bad about being destroyed by ESD, as they are not gate protected. This is a repair shop job, unless you are very good with repairing surface mount technology. The 635 is a good rig, well worth the repair costs. Consider using a factory repair shop, to get the job done right. There is an Alinco group on Yahoo Groups, join them and ask where to send your radio for repair. They will know who is reliable enough to trust your treasured radio to for repair.
Good Luck,

SP OFF mode?

if you turned it on without speakers hooked to it you may have blown the speaker output amps or if the end of the amp remote wire touched a ground you may have burned a trace on the board did you here it play at the pawn shop? or did it just light up? sometimes the people at the pawn shop think if the unit lights up it is working and sometimes they check them is just hook power to them without speakers if so this can blow the speaker output I would take it back to the pawn shop

Barred samsung tocco

the problem here is that the guy in the pawn shop probably didnt check the phone. I would blame the guy who sold it to the pawn shop guy, but ultimately i would say pawn shop guy is in the wrong for selling faulty goods. Unfortunately, due to the methodology involved in unlocking the phone, he is no longer liable for any problems with it. I'm sorry, the only thing you can legitimately do is sell it for spare parts. Alternatively, you can take it to another dodgy phone shop, and ask them to reinstall its flash firmware, but it might not be possible for this phone.

How do i unlock this product, i dont remember the code I have a Kenwood DDX6019 bought from a pawn shop they said it worked take it and have it installed and it says enter password the pawn shop will not...

Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote. For the DDX6019
The key sequence to enter the security code KCAR is: on the side of the remote there is AUD, DVD,TV. now enter 55 in the AUD then go to DVD and enter 2 which is fast forward then go back to AUD. Do the same for the rest.

Kenwood head unit CD and AUX sound not working

I fixed the sound problem with tech support from Kenwood. I had the blue wire from the Kenwood which is the antennae turn on wired to the amp turn on for the vehicle (2001 Blazer with Bose factory stereo). This is how I was told to wire it from the installation tech where I purchased the wiring harness. The tuning played fine because the Bose amp turned on when I played the tuner but when I played the cd or aux the amp turned off, thus no sound. The kenwood tech toldd me to wire the blue/white wire to the amp turn on for the vehicle so the amp would be on when ever power to the Kenwood was on. I rewired this way and everything works great now.
