Windows 8 will not load on my inspiron one 2020. after dell screen the screen just flashes

After you start your computer and the initial computer system display dissappears (before Windows begins) repeatedly pressing the F8 (I believe) should take you to a Multi-Boot selection screen. At that point you should see several selections for booting your system (ie. Safe Mode, Repair Windows, etc) I would select the "Repair Windows" option for the Automatic Repair. Let me know if it helps.

Blank screen after boot splash screen

Hi.

After you see the press Del and F12 message repeatedly tap the F8 key, see if that gets to the advanced boot menu, if it does select "Repair my Computer" from the list, and then follow the prompts. Have your Win 7 disk ready just in case you need it.

Let me know how you get on and good luck!!

When i start up the laptop. the screen flashes continouosly for a good 5 minutes

Does it boot up? Are you able to use it after 5 minutes? What does the flashing look like? Is it flashing the boot up posting processes?

Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode and see if it flashes for 5 minutes?

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal.

Archos screen only

solution found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for the support of the Archos team. here is what i did to repair my 504
if your "reset" button doesn't help at all, this is what you'll do.

If you power on the unit by pressing and holding the TV/LCD button and power
button simultaneously the unit will boot into a recovery screen. Once in this
screen choose "Repair Disk" and follow the on screen instructions.

When prompted, please place the following file into the 'root directory' of
the unit:

http://update.archos.com/4/a504/a504_r1.6.53/a504.aos

before i found this solution, i've already given up on my 504, but now it's back!!!! REBIRTH!!!
thanks once again to Tony H from Archos Technical Support
