How to fix the upper fan on a Samsung RF217ACBP?

The temperature level hs to be 3 degrees on the settings.

Bad water valve or clogged water circuit.

If ice buildup on back of the fridge compartment there will not be any air flow and with the doors open fans won’t run

low freon refrigerant...the lower part of the freezer is cold and the upper is not ...sometimes there is an internal fan that sticks or shorts and simply cant get the cold air to the top ..it is one or the other...hopefully the fan ..it is a quick fix for most technicians..GOD bless

Their is a fan circulating air through out the unit. If this fan is not working you will experience what you have discribed.

Just had mine repaired. The evaporator drain is plugged with ice. The solution is to replace the heat sensor and add a piece of metal extending from the small heat coil under the evaporator that supplements the piece already there. The guy that repaired mine used a piece of coat hanger wire for the extension. Except for the heat sensor, it's a repair anyone can do. Just take off the plastic cover on the inside back of the fridge, melt the ice obstruction in the drain and hang a piece of wire from the heat coil into the drain. He also used some metallic duct tape to raise the height of the drain tray on the ends so that it wouldn't overflow in the future.

I had an E3 on the upper zone. This fix was simple. Unscrew the 2 screws for the middle tray. Pull tray out as far as you can. Check the wires in the back, those are the wires for the fans in the back. The connectors over time corrode, and break off... All I did was connected the 2 wires that had broken off of their connector directly to each other. E3 went away and the cooler is working as it should now.in

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.
