How do you install or change the water filter.

Did you install the water filter properly? If it is not installed properly it will not allow water to go through. Then no Ice or chilled water...

Check user manual and pull the filter and reinstall it.

Did you install the filter all the way, until it seats? There is probably a switch that has to be closed by the filter before the water valve can be opened, thus preventing water from being sprayed inside your refrigerator compartment.

It sounds like the cartridge is not properly seated against the O ring. I am not familiar with this exact model but remove the filter, check and be sure the o rings are ok and re install the filter.

I understand the correct manufacturers number for the PuriClean II water filter for your refrigerator should be UKF8001 or UKF8001AXX, that you have the correct filter, and you have plenty of water out of the dispenser when the filter is not installed. If all that information is accurate you have 30 pounds or more water pressure (although the minimum is 20 pounds the higher the pressure the better for flow will be), then I would try holding the filter under the faucet to be certain the water flows through the filter without a lot of resistance. If that checks out, I would look for a gasket or some other part from the old filter that is stuck in the filter housing.

If your water and ice maker are not working, you may not have turned your water valve back on. If your water valve is turned on, try rotating your water filter further so that it completely locks as it may not be installed all the way. Once it is completely installed, press the "water" button for approximately three seconds until it turns blue. Press the ICE TIMER and ICE MODE buttons at the same time for about three seconds to reset the water filter installation date. • The green light changes to orange after five months to indicate that you should soon change the water filter. It changes to red after an additional one month (six months after the water filter was changed or installed) to indicate that you must change the water filter. • If you wish to turn off the filter indicator lamp or the filter is not connected, press the ice timer & ice mode button simultaneously for 5 seconds. If you wish to turn on the filter indicator lamp again, press the ice timer & ice mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds. Did you RESET it when you installed the new Filter?

The water filter is located in the fresh food or fridge side of the appliance, at the rear - in the upper right hand corner.



To change the filter, open the fridge door, clear the top shelf and grasp the filter. All that is needed is to turn the filter to the left about a 1/4 turn for it to drop down. A few drops of water may spill onto the shelf. To install a replacement, remove the protective cover (shown as a red cap above), and position under opening for filter. Gently push upward while turning the filter to the right. The filter will pop in, and as you turn about 1/4 of the way around, it will be drawn up a small amount until seated. At this point it will no longer turn any further.

The water "Filter Indicator" light

• "Filter Indicator" light lets you know when it is time to change your water filter cartridge. The light
will change from green to orange. This tells you that it is almost time to change the current cartridge.
It is recommended that you replace the cartridge when the light changes to red. (see "Install the water filter" section for more information)
• If you install water filter, throw away the first six glassfulls of water filter, or until water flows clearly to flush impurities in the water supply system.


Using the dispenser without the water filter

• You can not use the water and ice dispenser without a water filter cartridge because the water line
blocks at water supply.

Good day,
Grasp the filter firmly and turn it counter-clockwise until it releases.
Some water will spill so hold a small bowl under it.
Install the new one in reverse order. Pushed up turn clockwise until it seats.
It will take a while to purge the air out of the system, so be patient.

Water Filter Status Indicator Light

The Water Filter Status Indicator Light serves as a
reminder to replace the water filter. A green light
indicates that the filter is in good condition. A red light
indicates the filter should be changed. Once light turns
red, it will remain red until function is reset.
To Reset Indicator:
• Press and hold both the LOCK and WATER
buttons simultaneously for four seconds. The
green filter status indicator light will flash
three times when the function has
successfully reset.
