There are different models of Hoover Legacy Upright vacuum, but in general, you unlatch the front cover, and pull the old bag off. The cardboard flange of the new bag goes over the tube near the top of the bag compartment

As hooton8 stated i have the electrolux epic 6500 sr. as well and when i attempt to vacuum i turn it on and it turns off after about 3 seconds. new bag nothing stuck in tube. I turned dial to the right all the way. Works when hose is not connected..hose is clear.
You need an Electrolux Cannister bag to fit pre 2001 Series cannisters. You can fin them at a VAC Service center or thru AERUS Electrolux. Buy only a 4 ply bag, nothing thinner.
hello, my wand gets very warm and then the nozzle-where the brush is) does not rotate. i took out that wand that got a little warm and the vacuum works fine. i cannot find a on line place to locate another wand or fix this one. any suggestions?
