Hi,

Check the following steps to fix Printer Spooler Error :

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

Completely uninstall the printer driver and install again. If this does not work, there is a corruption in the windows registry or in the print spooler cache files.

For a temporary workaround, disable print spooling. But, if you do, you will need to remember to never close an application you print from until printing is actually finished.

Print spooler service not running on Windows XP

Spooler depends on the RPC service being running. But you really need to get into event viewer and check for anything related to either RPC or Print Spooler. If you're trying to print to a network printer you could have firewall issues either within Windows or your router. Think about what changed on your system around the time this problem began.

Stopped printing and isn't recognized

In Windows XP print jobs can get caught in the print spooler, this will cause pending print jobs not to print. It may also hinder the user from uninstalling the printer driver. Usually you can delete the print job by opening the print spooler in the System Tray but this may not work with this problem. NOTE: This fix below also solves the problem of "The Printer Queue Is Full" error message.
One solution is to restart the spooler in Windows XP to clear it. Follow the instructions below to do this:
Click Start, then Control Panel.
  1. For Category View:

    • Click Performance and Maintenance.

    • Click Administrative tools.

    • Double-click Services.

  2. For Classic view:

    • Double-click Administrative Tools.

    • Double-click Services.

  3. In either, locate the print spooler on the list-->right-click-->choose Restart.

  4. A progress message will appear and the spooler should be clear.
You should now be able to print or remove the printer driver as you choose.
