SOURCE: Canon MP730 "carrige jam" error frequently

This error will generate when the printhead holder cannot move. This is usually due to a paper jam. Clear the jam (or whatever might be obstructing it) and then press "Resume". Do NOT try to move the printhead holder manually. As for cleaning your printer, here is the owners guide from Canon. http://alpha03u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 Download the last link on the page. Hope this helps. Good luck.

SOURCE: Printer

Hi,
#334 is an eprom error, try turning it on and off to reset it, if it doesn't work there might be a problem with the main logic board.

You can open up the device and look inside. You'll prob ably find a jammed peice of paper or a paper clip or some obstacle inside jamming either the rollers or the track for the print head, or both.

I have a canon mp730 and since I have replaced my ink cartriges I keep geting a wrong cartridge message. I have checked and rechecked installation and re booted several times to no avail. I have checked...

Many times , if we use refilled ink cartridge , then also we might get such error messages on the printer display .
Ensure that you are using genuine Canon ink cartridges.. but if the error is after changing to a new set of genuine ink cartridges..
try by cleaning the electrical contacts of both ink cartridge and the printer.. and also do a semi full reset..

Above is a service and repair manual this will assist you to troubleshoot and hopefully repair, although I fear with this type of fault, it needs to be returned to the factory.

Canon smartbase mp730

Have you tried doing some maintenance like nozzle check, printing head alignment, clean the nozzles if not then try it by going into control panel - printers and faxes - where you see your mp730 right click and go to properties then click on the last tab which would be maintenance.Try those options if none worked then u might have to replace you print head and that should work
