Why is my dell 713w showing it is not connected to the wireless network?

Before i used the usb cable, i tried the wireless way. the printer itself indicates it can't find the network. tried reseting passwords, etc. still nothing!

This situation has happened to my HP printer. The way that I fixed the problem was to connect the usb cable, then trough the printer software on the computer while computer was connected to the wireless, the printer detected the network through usb cable. Sometimes it takes may be about 15 minutes that my printer detects the network, so I have noticed that I have to give a time to it, because it searches, and searches, and it takes some times.I recommend that you leave the printer on for at least 30 minutes. Check to see that printer detects any other neighbor networks at all, because the network card on the printer may be malfunctioning, and not detecting any network at all. If you can connect your printer to a laptop or a desktop with usb cable and use any software that comes with your printer, it should have the (connect to the wireless ) software facility. That facility will then ask you for your password and it will the set up the printer wirelessly. It is like starting all over again that has happened to me also. I wonder if Dell support can assist you or not, but they should , since they built the printer.Hope all things go well with you.

SOURCE: Dell 3000cn Network Connection not working

First of, the ethernet must be 'on'. If dhcp available, set it to auto (or dhcp.. anyways..) and let it reboot, just in case :)
if not, try setting the IP-setting yourself. They should be somewhat similar to the settings on your local computer(s).

To add the printer to your computer, select 'Local' printer and specify 'tcp/ip' as which port its connected to. In the new window the ip to the printer should be entered. :) (at least for XP this is..)

Hope this gave you the correct solution..

SOURCE: Dell Color Printer 725 - Communication Not Available

I have seen that in most of the cases (with lexmark and dell printers) it is fixed by reinstalling the printer software. Be sure that you completely remove the older drivers using the cd or using add/remove programs.

SOURCE: Unable to connect Dell 3000cn to wireless network

The printer driver needs to be installed and the printer port changed from LPT1 or USB to a TCP/IP port.

Need help connecting cords on my printer. Printer was disconnected and moved and movers may have lost cord. How many cords should I have. Thank you.

You will need at LEAST the power cable. If this printer is used wirelessly, that's all you need. If you physically hooked it up to your computer, you will need a USB cable. If you have it hooked up to the network via a network cable, you would need that.

I have a Dell dimension 350 pc with just a modem connection for a phone line. I just got cable installed which has the ethernet hookup. i would like to still use my 350 with win. 98 if i can. how can i...

Does your cable modem have wireless internet? If so, you can buy a Netgear wireless usb port adapter for about $20 and use that to connect wirelessly to the internet. Your pc has usb port connections - right? (Usb port looks like a rectangle)

If you don't want to use a wireless connection you can purchase a cable modem with a usb connection for about $65. You run the ethernet cable to the modem and then a usb cable from the modem to your pc.

If you have a serial cable connection on your pc (looks like a round circle with tiny metal pins in it) you can buy a gender changer and convert that to usb (in case you dont have a usb connection or need another one). You can buy one for about $11.

You can buy an I/O Gear bluetooth usb adapter for $13 and pick up the internet via bluetooth by putting it in your usb port but I'm unsure how well it would work with Win 98.

If you have another pc that has an ethernet connection you could use good old fashioned bi directional printer cable and network both computers together. You may need to upgrade to win xp for networking capabilities.

How to get my dell lattitude c400 with wifi to connect with my motorola flipside, i already have pdanet, a usb cable connected, moto phone portal and i can get on internet on laptop

Dell uses it own wireless utility ..

  1. Open the Dell wireless Utility and uncheck the box at the top that says "Let this tool manage your wireless networks". You may then need to open Network Connections, right click the Wireless connection and select Properties, click on the Wireless Networks tab and check the box next "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".
  2. And then try to connect again ..

I just purchased your 705 professional series wireless printer. Can I use this with my non wireless computer laptop? thanks I have a Dell Inspiron computer.

Yes, the printer can still be connected to your computer via the USB cable. Before connecting the printer to your computer, I suggest you insert the installation cd in your computer first. Run the software and follow the instructions on it. While it is installing, the software will also show you a step-by-step instructions on how to setup the printer itself. Hope this helps.

No connection ref hp officejet pro 8500 a909a

How are you connecting to the printer (over the network or a direct USB connection)? If you are using a USB connection, try a new cable or plugging into a different USB port. If you use a USB hub, try a direct connection.

If you are using a network connection, check if your firewall is blocking the connection. Also check that the router (or switch) didn't dropped the network connection and didn't re-synch with the printer (or worse changed the IP address of the printer).

I hope this helps.

Printer only runs with usb,

If you're trying to run your USB printer over a wireless connection, a USB device server like the Silex SX2000U2 will connect to your USB printer, then provide a wired network connection that you can connect to your wireless access point. Belkin also has a "USB Network Hub" that does the same.

This will make the printer available on your network and you can print to it from another computer wired or wirelessly.
