Hello bsinger:
If it is not leaking water anywhere and the nozzle is OK then go HERE
Turn it off and shut the water of. Go to pate 2.1 of the manual
Carefully remove part #2. Pull out part # 1 and make sure the O-rings are in good shape ad are lubricated with a good waterproof grease. Re-assemble and try it.

F350 2000 7.3 does it take oil pressure to fire injectorr

Hi Marvin:
Engine oil pressure maintains lubrication of the engines moving parts, and is created by the oil pump when the engine is running.
Fuel is injected into the engine cylinders to make the engine run. It is under pressure, but has nothing to do with oil pressure.

92 geo metrofuel pump pressure

which engine?
i roll dice 1.0L G10. Suzuki
(25-33 psi)
depends on engine, and test done.
the key pressure and running pressure
the fuel pressure regulator does this.
and leak down test.
the TBI system and MPI work different. the FP reg is quite different
ill not guess what is there. until you say, what engine and EFI
it runs.

the chart below is a start.
its the running pressure i think.
when i do EFI, i do all 5+ tests in the book (FSM)
fuel pressure , run /non run
leak down test.
shut tests.
and the MPI balance test.
but that is how I do it, 100% not just 1 .

line up, of engines.
1.0 L LP2 I3 suz, G10 actual 25-31 PSI

1.3 L L72 I4

What does the oil pressure do

oil pressure is VERY IMPORTANT do not run your engine if you have low or no fuel pressure. most engines run at around 40 psi and you WILL cause engine damage if you are running any lower than about 15-20 psi. to answer your question more directly, oil pressure is ussually generated by a gear driven pump that typically runs off your vehicle cam. once your system is pressurized by the fuel pump oil will flow throughout various oil galleys and oil your crank main bearings, oil rinds around your pistons, cam, lifters, rocker arms, valve springs, ect... if you do not have suffient pressure you motor will not properly lubricate and you will suffer complete engine failure over time

I have a 1998 Chevy Lumina with the 3.8 litre engine, 197000 miles. The engine cranks up and runs fine until the engine warms up, then it stalls out and will not run. The engine will fire back up, but will...

One possible scenario is that the fuel pressure regulator is stuck in the high pressure mode because its vacuum diaphragm is leaking. High pressure mode is okay for cold starting. But as the engine warms up the high pressure setting leads to the fuel injectors injecting too much fuel and the engine floods out.

How do I check and possibly replace the engine oil pressure sensor in a 2006 GMC Envoy Denali?

Oil Pressure Test Check for proper oil pressure at the sending unit passage with an externally mounted mechanical oil pressure gauge. A tachometer may also be needed, as some specifications may require running the engine at a specific RPM.
  1. While the engine is cold, locate and remove the oil pressure sending unit.
  2. Following the manufacturer's instructions, connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge and, if necessary, a tachometer to the engine.
  3. Start the engine and allow it to idle.
  4. Note and record the oil pressure reading when the engine is cold. The engine may need to run at a specified RPM, if so check the vehicle's specification.
  5. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
  6. Check the oil pressure reading again with the engine hot and record the value. Turn off the engine.
Compare the hot oil pressure reading to the specification. If the reading is low, check the cold pressure reading against the specification. If the cold pressure is well above the specification, and the hot reading was lower than the specification, the engine may have the wrong viscosity oil. Change the oil, making sure to use the proper grade and quantity, and then repeat the test.
Low oil pressure readings could be attributed to internal component wear, pump related problems, a low oil level, or oil viscosity that is too low. High oil pressure readings could be caused by an overfilled crankcase, too high of an oil viscosity or a faulty pressure relief valve.

Shouldn't there be fuel pressure with the key turned to the run position? I only get fuel pressure when the starter is engaged and turning the engine over.

no you will not have fuel pressure untill the engine is running

fuel pressure is not required to start the engine...only to keep it running

when you turn the key on the computer send a signal to turn the fuel pump on for a second and prime the engine...once it starts the fuel pump relay kicks the fuel pump on then you have pressure.
