SOURCE: kodak easy share z612 will not turn on to take a picture

When the battery dies, usually the camera will retract the lens if possible. If the battery is so dead the lens can not retract, I would recommend trying to charge or change the battery. Or try to turn the camera on, and then manually shutting it off if you can.

SOURCE: Kodak Camera V610 easy share

Hi!
This is what I need you to try..
If you're using a 5v ac adapter to charge the camera's battery - please hook it to the camera WITHOUT THE BATTERY in it. The 5v ac adapter can be an alternative power supply.

Turn on the camera - check if it would do the same thing - like lighting up, making a noise (attempting to extend the lens) and closes. If it does, the camera needs to be sent in for repair.

visit www.kodak.com/go/itg to arrange repair

If you are using a photoframe dock2 or camera dock series 3 to recharge the camera's batt - use its 5v ac adapter. It will work with the cam. Make sure, the batt is not in it to check the cam's condition, isolating the possible interference of the battery.

If the camera works fine - when the AC adapter is attached, no battery in it - consider buying a new battery.

V610 is a very nice camera, but it was manufactured in 2006. If you have not replaced the battery yet, it might just need to be replaced. Even Li-ion rechargeable batteries wear out eventually - it can only last up to 300 charging cycles.

If you're using a batt that is less than a year old, the cam might just need to be sent in for service.

SOURCE: my kodak M1063 will turn on but as soon as it does

It is telling itself that it has a problem. When turned on a camera goes through a series of test, if one fails it shuts off. You will have to have the problem diagnosed or as is most often the case today is repairs are more than the camera used value.

SOURCE: my kodak easy share M1063 turns on then shuts right off how do i

I had the same exact problem. When the camera turns on and then lens extends, hold the lens out while the camera shuts off. Then sort of move it around a bit. I did this and when I turned it on, it was fixed. I guess something was jammed in the lens.

Try cleaning the contacts from the battery and the battery compartment of the camera. I had the same problem and this fixed it, it seems to be a common problem.

Please try the following: Don't forget if you're charging though the computer NOT to turn the camera on. 1. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Turn the camera on. 2. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a no power repair with KODAK or a new cable.

Batteries are kodak li klic 7001 cameras areeasy

The batteries may just be "dead" and beyond charging. Before you toss them though, clean the contacts by wiping them firmly with a soft cloth and then try charging them again. If the problem persists, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

My Kodak easy share M1063 digital camera wont stay on

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/troubleshooting/troubleshooting.jhtml?pq-path=6198

It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

Can i charge my kodak easy share m1063 just by connecting it to my computer through the usb?

Yes, you can charge it through the USB port on your pc. Do not use any type of USB hub though. It may take between 7-9 hours to charge it up this way.I got this info from KODAK.
