The Direct TV remote has to be programmed properly. See the user manual for the process. The problem is, the user manual tells you to enter a code for the TV, but gives you a long list of codes that may work. So it's simply a problem of trial and error. For me, the first code in the list gave me the same results that you got (having to press volume repeatedly). But when I programmed the 2nd code in the list, pressing and holding the volume worked!.

I can't guarantee it, but I suspect you'll have the same result.

Not sure if this is exactly the same as yours your model hard to find I had 2 similar monitors at previous employer and they both operated the same way Taking a Look 1. Power Switch Pressing this button turns the display system power on or off. 2. Menu/Select ? Pressing this button pops up the OSD menus on the screen, and used to select ("Up" direction) the OSD control options on the screen. ? This button is used to select ("Down" direction) the OSD control options on 3. Select the screen. 4. + This button is used to increase the value of the selected OSD control option. 5. 0 This button is used to decrease the value of the selected OSD control option. Quick Adjustment Function When the OSD Menu is not active, the following functions are available for the quick adjustment. Pressing ? button once pops up the OSD Function Main Menu . Pressing ? button once pops up the small Brightness icon. Use +or 0button to adjust the Brightness level. Pressing + button once pops up the small Volume icon. Use +or 0 button to adjust the Volume level.

Osd Lock how to open?

1) Press the MENU-button ( ) to activate the OSD window.

2) Press or to navigate through the functions. Once the desired function is highlighted, press the MENU-button to
activate sub-menu . Once the desired function is highlighted, press MENU-button to activate it.

3) Press or to change the settings of the selected function. Press or to select another function in sub-menu .
Press AUTO( ) to exit . If you want to adjust any other function, repeat steps 2-3.

4) OSD Lock Function: To lock the OSD, press and hold the MENU button while the monitor is off and then press power
button to turn the monitor on. To un-lock the OSD - press and hold the MENU button while the monitor is off and then
press power button to turn the monitor on.

5) Eco Mode hot key ( ) : Press the Eco key continuously to select the Eco mode of brightness when there is no OSD (
Eco mode hot key may not be available in all models).

use the front panel buttons

Power Turns the monitor on and to standby or sleep mode.
? NOTE: The power button is located on the top or front of the monitor depending on the model.
- Menu Opens, selects, or exits the OSD menu.
-Adjusts the volume level.
-Opens the Quick View menu to quickly adjust settings for gaming, video, photo, and text.
? Navigates backward through the OSD menu and decreases adjustment levels.

Image is off center bottom is cut off so I cannot see commands

This page is for ACER products. Select the DISPLAY, the choose the correct model for your monitor. There select Guides and Manuals. When you get the PDF file open, look for ADJUSTING DISPLAY SETTINGS. (page 6)

This is what was one one product's manual. This is similar to what my HP monitor uses. Hope this helps.

Stereo Speakers

Increase Volume - Turn the knob clock wise.

I have a viewsonic pjd 6221 projector. The OSD has been set to one second. How can I change this setting as it does,t give me enough time to make any changes? Regards Keith

There is a setting called OSD timeout. You should set its value to 60 secs(recommended). Select the OSD timeout setting and press the volume up button(up arrow to increase the value.
