I have a Vizio. If I use the HDMI input I can only get normal and zoom w/ picture buttom on the remote but get full picture on all cable supplied HD channels but not on none HD channels. However, if I switch cable input, I have the TV set up with both inputs from the converter box, I am able to have the options of normal, panoramic, wide and zoom on all non HD channels. I don;t like the black bars top and bottom of the HD channels with this imput mode so I switch back to HDMI. Maybe your TV is simmilar.

As you can see, the screen isn't full, its kinda half, mom pressed something and i don't know how to fix it, please help.

The issue here is the "Format" or "Ratio" of the screen. Currently, it is set to Standard Format or a 4:3 ratio. It may also be set to 480i or 480P scan rate.

You should change it to Wide Screen or 16:9 ratio. Additionally, you will want to display High Definition images by selecting a scan rate of either 720P, 1080i or 1080P - depending on which choices are offered by the TV. Typically the remote will offer a choice of Format. It is possible that the source device (cable TV, DirecTV, Tivo, etc. has a command to cause this too. In any case, the TV, and other source appliances must be set to Wide Screen / 16:9 and 720P or higher to veiw full screen, HD images.

I hope this helps & good luck!

The image on my Toshiba 24V4210U tv is cut off on the left and right sides. Also, the Info shows 480i whereas the input from the service provider is 780p.

If closed evenly with a shaded area on each side that is the 4x3 format, I can look but so can you: some of the sets (Toshiba) are only 4x3 and not full screen (16x9) and to boot only work with HD on one input.

480 I or not is not HD.

YOU Using a box of some sort here for this set?

How do I make my vizio screen full?

Hello
If you are using RGB mode, make sure that H size and V position in the On Screen Display [OSD] are set correctly.
If you are using TV, AV-C, AV-S or Component with 480i input, use the WIDE button on the remote control to scroll through various screen modes. OK.

I have a sceptre model x9g-naga v flat screen monitor that I am trying to connect my x box 360 to. It allows me to play games, but when I put in a movie, it says, secure hdcp link not found. I was told...

A simple work around that could be able to fix it is by turning on the xbox, waiting until the screen showed the logo and the error message "secure hdcp link not found" then unplugging the hdmi cable from the back of the xbox and plugging it back in. Of course having to do this each time you wanted to turn on your Xbox would be annoying. (I have not tested this using VGA cable hookup though)

If you are asking how to change your Xbox to 480i then you will need simply use the red, yellow, and white cable as it defaults to 480i. (not possible with your monitor I don't think)
  1. On your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Console Settings.
  3. Select Display.
  4. Select HDTV Settings.
  5. Select the appropriate screen resolution for your TV or monitor. 480p,720p,1080i,1080p, 1024x768, 1280x1024.

I am assuming from your TV that you are using VGA? With VGA then your system is going to automatically choose the best display for your monitor. You can go into the display settings as described above to adjust your display settings.

Hope this helps.

My screen rolls whenever i hook my xbox up through the component cables and try using the hd output on the xbox. works fine when switch on xbox cables is set on tv.

You need to set XBox resolution to 480i. That is the only resolution it supports, if it can supp rt that. The Component connection is intended for a DVD player and not necessarily game consoles as it only support 500 lines per second.

In case of a problem or clarification or my solution was insufficient, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

The tv i own: Panasonic TX-32LX77 LCD Monitor (TX32LX77) . i want to know if this is HD. if i hook up the tatasky HD box, will i get a full HD output? thnx

The TX-32LX77 is an HD TV but only has 720p (1366 x 768) resolution. Full HD is 1080p. (SD is 480i.)

I wish that I had better news.

(It's possible that you won't notice the resolution difference; small screens don't always need the full 1080 lines of pixels from top to bottom of the screen to give a crisp picture.)

How to change resolution on a Toshiba LCD TV from 480i to better?

Can't solve this problem, because I have the same one! I can say that adjusting some of the fine picture contrrols, like brightness, contrast, color etc help a little. This TV is supposed to go 720 and as high as 1080 I thought?..........

I cant keep the picture at full screen fom channel to channel

The reason for this is that the incoming signal is not always the same. Stations broadcast in different formats from 480i to 1080. If the bars top and bottom or side to side bother you then you'll have to stretch the picture (try different modes) to keep the picture screen full.

Full hd capable, but only functioning in 480. how do i set my monitor to 1080?

i would have to know what type of connection you are using. usually in most hd monitors, the vga plug will only show up to 480i/p and some will show 1080i. DVI will only show 480i/720p/1080i and if it has an HDMI you can get 480i/480p/720i/720p/1080i/1080p. you will also have to set you resolution of your video card to match.
