I have an hitachi 62vs69a that has blue streaks on the side with a yellow tint? how do i fix it?

BLUE STREAKS AND YELLOW TINT describes almost perfectly a bad optical light engine--no do it yourself repair and engine is well over 600 dollar part exchange.

The shutdown may or may not be related but it does not matter--time for another (in my view) TV.

I have a LCD Rear Projection Hitachi tv (62VS69A) and need to replace the light engine I believe. Will an engine from a 50" or 55" tv work?

No, the optics are set for the specific size of the screen. A 55 or a 50 would leave you with a smaller picture and thats even if electronically they are the same
