Aquasurge with speed clean will not start - Frigidaire 24 in. FDB1050REC Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

The noise is most likely coming from the wash pump. This accounts for the noise and the not cleaning. At 12 years old parts may no longer be available.

Hello - From what you are describing it appears that the unit is attempting to run the cycle, but the wash motor is not coming on. Either the wash motor has failed or there isn't any or isn't enough power supplied to the wash motor. I personally recommend contacting a service provider to accurately diagnosis the dishwasher and to assist with the repairs.

is drain hole itself clogged?

You might remove the front panel (screws on the sides) pop off the front plate, and remove the fuse. Put it back in after 5 minutes... sometime this fixes it

With regards to the white film, I would check for a soap buildup. Turn the dishwasher on, let it run for 5 minutes or so then open the door and see if there is suds. If there is, pour a half cup of cooking oil in the water and let it finish the cycle. That will clear the suds. It is possible that the rinse agent dispener has failed and is letting in too much jetdry as well. With regards to the leak, install a slash shield in the gasket, part number 154701001. it comes with instructions, really easy to put in and should fix teh problem.

I would suspect a faulty touchpad/console. They get moisture in them and short out causing all sorts of problems.

Called my installer who recommended replacing it with the Aquasurge model. Keeping my fingers crossed this one lasts.

VO is vent sticking open, in top of tub upper right. You may be able to clean if not replace it.
