I tried this fix on my monitor and it works now.

Hook up a different monitor and set resolution to no higher than 1024 x 768. Samsung monitor will then work fine. It appears that something fails in the monitor and it will no longer support anything higher than this.

Change your screen resolution to 1280x1024 or lower than that.If that too doesn't work log on in safe mode and restore the system to an earlier time.
