Sounds like a thermal issue. A free program called Speccy from Prriform. It ill give temps for cpu, memory, hdd, motherboard, graphics, etc. Some HP notebooks tend to run pretty warm. Best idea s t blow the pc out with air. If you can get to the fan make sure it is clean. Speccy System Information Free Download

Few things can be wrong:
1) you installed software like a game or which was not compatible with you OS - you removed it, and it did not uninstall effectively.
2) You have formatted your machine and wrongly installed OS which is not compatible with your hardware.
3) You possible used some registry cleaner and messed up your registery.
4) You have two antivrus porgrams installed.
5) You have a virus problem and in this case it is so sevre you will have to format
6) You have hardware issues such as RAM Module that crashed, you CPU decided it is time to go - if you have an old machine.
7) If you get a blue screen with error code - it is Operating System issues and it needs to be re-installed,.
8) Start/ boot your machine in safe mode to avoid any driver errors.
9) Listen two the amount and lenght of beeps you can when you computer starts.
Cheers!

Gateway MT6840 unexpectedly shut down and wouldn't

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Can't restart windows 7 on my dell d610, did a format on the hd, re-loaded the windows 7 disc, everything runs great until I shut it down then it won't restart

Recently a put windows 7 on my latitude d610 only problems I had were incompat. Drivers (wifi, sound, graphics.) all were fixed with googling those drivers with windows 7 because this hardware is not compatible with 7 but seeing as it is a restart thing,

Check the drivers u have installed try to see if any need updating or are no compat.

I want to restart or reset my laptop. how?

Hi,

Few steps to restart you laptop, I would suggest not to restart often since it will degrade the hardware resource.
  • Determine what operating system it uses. Finding out what operating system your laptop uses will let you know what key combo (such as "Ctrl+Alt+Delete") can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown.
  • Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up.
  • Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot.
  • Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately.
  • Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually.
Else Try:

Windows start > there's a small arrow(pointing RIGHT) in the left bottom > click it and u will get ALL the Power House Options there at your Click(sleep, hibernate, shut down,RESTART,....)

I need to know how to reset my printer, I 've cleaned the pads, but nothing... Thank you in advance...

Power down the Canon Pixma IP4300. Once it has shut down, leave it off for a few moments.
Hold down both the "Resume" button and the "Power Button." When the printer begins to restart, release the "Resume" button but continue pressing "Power."
Push in the "Resume" button twice, then let go of both the buttons. In a moment, a green light flashes a few times.
Press the "Resume" button four times once the green flashing has finished.
Push the "Power" button again until the printer shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart the device. The Canon Pixma IP4300 will now function properly. for more information http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67824 hope this helps you.
