Remove the air box and air filter. The 2 screws holding on the carburetor are right on the outside of the carburetor. The screws go through the carburetor through the intake boot and into the cylinder.

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode. HTH

SOURCE: how to adjust the carburator

Unfortunatly there are special tools required to adjust the screws, the screws are set from the factory for the best emmisions. The screws are anti tamper with splines rather than a screw driver slot, before making any adjustments check fuel filters and hoses first, it is not good to try and compensate for fuel blockages by richening the carb, max rpm must be set up useing a engine tahco and should not exceed 12500

Adjust the carburator on a Poulan 365 Pro chainsaw?

A good starting point would be about 1 to 11/4 turns out from the screws turn all the way in. Take note of the turns required on each screw to turn in (clockwise) This does not apply to the idle adjustment screw.

Can't start chainsaw

Walter:

gently run the fuel and air mixture screws on the carburetor all the way closed (clockwise).then turn them out one and a quarter turns each. That setting should allow the saw to start if you are getting fuel to the carburetor. Once the saw starts, make fine adjustments to the fuel/air mixture screws until the saw runs to your satisfaction.

Adjust carburator on homlite chain saw

Hi

If its an old Homelite you should have 3 screw on the carburator.
First bigger screw for adjust idle on the butterfly.
The 2 other for the mixture. One screw is ''L'' for low rpm mixture an other screw is ''H'' for high rpm mixture.

First the idle screw. It should just open a little bit the carburator butterfly.
Second full close both ''L'' and ''H'' screws (turn clockwise).
After open both ''L'' and ''H'' screws 1/2 to 3/4 turn (conterclockwise)

Normally the saw should start. Tune the ''L'' screw to have the motor running at idle if idle is to fast at this point is not important. After motor is running by itself at idle tune the ''H'' screw.
Full throttle tune the ''H'' screw to be able to pass from low rpm to high rpm with no lag.
Than at full throttle open again a little bit the ''H'' screw to make the high rmp mixture more rich.
Becarful if ''H'' screw is not adjust correctly the mixture will be to poor and motor damage can occur.

It may be necessary to re-tune a very little bit the ''L'' screw and idle screw after the correct setting of the ''H'' screw.

If it still not working carburator kit may be needed,

On some newer model there is no adjusting screws in this case see if a carburator kit is available for your model.

How do you set the carburator back to factory specs. mine wont keep running

Basic settings can vary from model to model, a good starting point for most carbs is screw both H and L screw right in ,then back the H screw out 1 turn and the L screw 1 and1/4 turns, the machine should run well enough to fine adjust from there, they are both fuel screws, so the more you unscrew them the richer the saw becomes, always remember if there in another under lying problem adjusting the carb screws will not always help, before any adjustment clean or replace the fuel filter in the fuel tank.

Husqvarna 137 Chain won't stop when idleing. I turned the T screw down just enough to keep it running chain keeps on going. Could it be the clutch?

your carburator is gummed up. Get some carb. cleaner additive for your fuel, run a couple of tanks of treated fuel through the saw and it will be ok.

Can't find a husqvanna chain saw carburator adjustment tool . It's for a 16" blade. There is a little hole that a tool goes into for adjustment. A screwdriver won't work. Help?

You may have the one that uses splined adjustment screws rather then limiters. If you do you can order this from your husky dealer. You can tell if you have limiter caps by shining a light through the screw hole and see if caps are white or red.If black you have round splined needle ends that take a hard to get adjustment tool.
