I have a Frigidaire microwave model # GLMV169DSC
Th door hinge looks as if it had been tack welded onto the housing. Mine has broken off and am curious as to the repair of this concern. new door (and where), using rivets to repair, nuts and bolts, etc...
Thank you
I had the same problem. I removed the door and used a rivet tool. I checked to make sure the door cleared the rivet head, which was nearly flat, so there would not be any microwave leakage.

That said, if the hinge was tack welded onto the chassis and the weld broke, it should be rewelded if at all practical.
Otherwise, the best repair is to drill through the hinge & chassis & hinge and use two machine screws and lock washers. I would also recommend Loctite.
The hinge must be aligned exactly as it was or leakage could occur, which could cause arcing or a fire.
Since one hinge failed, you should carefully inspect the other one, too. And you may want to either have its weld reinforced or drill & bolt it, too for good measure.
Good luck.

I appreciate your post, Wayne!
From my understanding your Frigidaire microwave door is sagging and about to fall off. This could be an issue with your hinges or door. In order to check if you hinges are not damaged you may need to disassemble your microwave this is not a simple DIY job. I would highly recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid personal injury, future problems, or unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful for you. -Matt
Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!
Sounds like there could be a potential problem with your magnetron, capacitor, or control panel inside of your Frigidaire microwave and that is why it is not heating. I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional for additional assistance towards a proper diagnose of your appliance. -Matt

Thank you, I have removed the door and am probably going to rivet this back on since that won't obstruct the seal as a bolt may.
