Ooh my this might seem a terrible thing but is actually quite comon to happen on a unit that has a clogged drain tube , you see theres a system (pan) inside that collects water from the condenser coils , and if this pan for what ever reason cant drain the pan backs up and finnaly the water level reaches the fan and yup ^$^ Hits the fan !!!! and out it goes with the air !! this pan is seperate from the bucket that collects the water so your not likely to see it from outside , to resolve it this units needs to be completly cleaned in/out

I have a comfort air dehumidifier that does seem too effective. also theer is a tube on top of the water bucket? whats that for?

That's the water collection tube, that drains water into the bucket. What's the other other problem that makes it seem, that the dehumidifier is not to effective?

Water will not drain into reservoir. Instead the water drains/leaks onto the floor.

First, is the unit level? Tipped a bit to one side or the other, or front to back could be the issue.
Next, is the drain hole clear? locate where the water drip from into the bucket and push a wire up there to ensure it is clear. use something like a garbage bag tie.

Spitting water out of vent. dehumidifier is has drain hose set up.

If the room tempature is close to 60, the coils may be frozen (completely encased in ice). If this is the case, move it where the water can drain off - about 1 gallon which may NOT run into the drain bucket.
I out mine over the floor drain.
Turn off and it will defost over night.
Only specially made dehumidifers work below a room temo of 60 degrees (the temp of a basement in winter).
Does it need to be running? A digital humidity sensot from Radio Shack is cheap and may tell you the humidity is OK - only 50% or less.

It collects some water but it also spits water out

The dehumidifier has a non-removable tray under the coils (they look like radiators) that collects and drains the water away. If the tray or drain gets clogged with dirt or slime the water doesn't drain away well. Some water is picked up by the fan and is blown out the vent. Take the covers off the machine and give everything a good cleaning. If you get water on any electrical parts, let the machine dry thoroughly before plugging in.

Solenoid is not opening for water to ice maker

The only thing that controls the water valve on the IM side is the IM itself. If you can power up the water valve manually and it works fine then you need to take a look at the IM

Dehumidifier

HI, you will need to check the terminal block. this is where the power cord runs to on the back side of the unit. make sure it is not lose or worn. you may have to disassemble the unit to expose the terminal block in this case. the power cord wires will spit into three or four little wires and, they will either be soldered or screwed on the block. make sure these wires are secure and not ripped or worn.

Now, if the terminal block is in good condition, this will confirm power board failuer and, in this case, you will need to replace the board supply board .

Water bucket - proper seating

Try re-seating the bucket. I have found some LG models that if not seated all of the way will sometimes keep running and think the bucket is not full even when it is. On the models that I have seen do it the problem is usually the left side of the bucket not engaging all of the way. When you reseat the bucket, feel where the bucket meets the dehumidifier on each side and make sure they are even. If one feels like it is sticking out further than the other and you cannot push it in any more pull the bucket out and try and reseat it again until both sides are flush with the dehumidifier. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.
