I have the similiar problem. I was watching video and all of sudden the sound gets cut off. I have tried to reset the receiver and still could not get the sound back. I tried the head phone and different audio input. Nothing works at this point.
Check sound on "Tuner" input. If still no audio, post a comment with your other equipment makes and models as well as cabeling and I can help some more.

Could be a number of things: Inadequate ventilation; running with a small wiring short somewhere; speaker Ohms rating too low for the receiver. These are just the main ones to check.
The reset will wipe out all of your settings. If you remove the power momentarily you will probably clear the problem and not have to go through the setup procedures again. This has worked for me on a number of problems with this product.
I was listening to my surround sound when all of a sudden it just cut off with no sound or anything I would turn it back on and all the power would come on and cut right back off again I have an RCA RT2270 would it be possible to get someone to come out and look at it please help
