Error Code P1345 is defined as Crankshaft Position-Camshaft Position Correlation.
This error code is a manufacturer-specific trouble code, meaning it does not apply to all vehicles makes. Rather, it applies only to specific vehicle makes, such as Audi, GM (Chevrolet/GMC), Isuzu, Lexus, Mazda, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Specification of the definition, troubleshooting, and repairs still vary from one make and model to another. Regardless of how the manufacturer describes the code, all vehicles will have one thing in common with this code - it's an ignition problem.

SOURCE: running dtc p1345

You may have the distributer a tooth off and the computer can not calibrate the timing properly. Set the engine at (top-dead center) at the crank harmonic balancer and remove dist-cap to see if the "DTC" is off. If so, when distributer is out, you will have to use a longer flat head screw driver to reach down in the intake and turn the oil pump shaft to advance it for the re-installation of the distributer as it will turn when threading into the cam gear. Hope this helps.

99 GMC suburban 5.7l P1345 wont start/misfire

The primary intent of this code is to detect slipped camshaft timing. Have you checked the camshaft timing? Your symptoms indicate you are a tooth off.

I have a 1998 chevy silverado check engine code 1345a what does this mean

Do you mean Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P1345 ?This DTC is a "Manufacturer Specific" code that is defined by GM as "Camshaft/Crankshaft Correlation Error".

It is basically telling you that your Cam/Crank timing is not within specifications.

Possible causes are:

> Improperly installed distributor assembly
> Badly worn distributor shaft or bushings
> Worn timing components (chain, gears, etc.)

Proper diagnosis is required to diagnose the actual condition that is causing this code. If any timing components are replaced, a scan tool capable of reading live computer data is required to check the cam/crank offset PID and make adjustments as necessary.

The specification for Cam/Crank offset is (Zero) 0 +/- 2 and must be checked with the engine running at 1500 RPM.

P1345 code

DTC P1345 - Crankshaft Position (CKP) - Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation
The most likely cause if you have replaced the cam position sensor is the distributor is out of time. You MUST use a scan tool with a data stream capability to properly set the timing on this engine. Access the data stream and find the cam ****** offset reading. It should be 0 plus or minus 2 at 1500 RPM. If not within spec, then the distributor is out of time. loosen the hold down bolt and rotate the distributor until the reading comes into spec.

NOTE: the value will not change on the scan tool until the engine is reved above 1500 RPM so make an adjustment and rev the engine. This is the only way to accurately set the timing on these engines.

If you need additional details about action taken when the DTC sets (PDF format document), contact us in the previous fault code link.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
