LG lds4821 overheats filter board and burns it. Probably another part shorts and causes excessive current. Replacing the filter board makes dishwasher run but problem persists

OE in your LG dishwasher is a drain error and dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If it's still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller. First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle.Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential.It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly.So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.

Please perform an vinegar clean cycle on your dishwasher..Pour a half cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and run a cycle at the highest temperature possible.Run the complete cycle.. Also clean the dishwasher filter for debris if any.

It is difficult to be specific without knowing the model number of your LG dishwasher.

On newer LG models, the most common cause of noises is from debris stuck in the lower filter assembly area. Recommend you remove the lower spray arm and the screws that holds the filter sub-assembly in. After removing the assembly, inspect with a flashlight to search for any debris that is jammed in that area. Also rinse out the filter as best possible to remove any thing you see in there. Reassemble and test.

The LG dishwashers have a perminant mesh filter just below the bottom spray arm.
The filter can be removed by removing the spray arm by pulling straight up, then removing 10 phillips screws. Whenever you remove the filter, inspect for debris beneath the filter (including hard to see broken glass.)

some have little tabs to push to unlock the filter. what is your model number?

HI, WE HAD THE SAME ERROR AND WERE ADVISED - AFTER WE CLEANED EVERYTHING - TO NOT USE A LIQUID CLEANER AND USE A TABLET.
