To replace a drive belt.
Before starting unplug from mains power source.
1, Remove the rubber platter mat to expose the platter.
2. Put your thumb and forefinger through the two round holes and lift the platter off. You may need to give the centre spindle a light tap (whilst applying upward pressure) with a screwdriver handle or some similar tool that will not leave any marks or damage.
3. Remove the old belt and wipe the platter pulley and motor pulley with an alcohol swab to remove any old belt residue.
4. Place the new belt around the platter pulley making sure t is sitting flat without any twists.
5. Flip platter over the right way up. There are1or 2 larger rectangle shaped cut outs in the platter.
6. Through the cut out pinch up the belt and slip a finger or belt hook between the platter pulley and the belt gripping the belt ready to fit over the motor pulley.
7. Align the centre hole of the platter with the spindle and place platter back into position keeping a grip on the belt.
8. Slip belt over motor pulley and give the platter a light clockwise rotation to ensure the belt is riding correctly.
9. Replace the rubber mat and then run the turntable to ensure correct operation.

Job done.

SOURCE: Teac turntable belt came off.. help!

Through the 2 holes on the platter, lift the platter up. Take the belt, flip the platter over, and stretch it around the center ring. Flip the platter back over and turn to so one of the holes is over the spinning motor. With your finger or with a blackstick, stretch it back onto the motor head.

Also check the belt for wear....that should do it.

How to fit capstan belt on teac x-3

It is put on by taking the front cover off of the machine. There are others that tell you to go through the back and fish the belt around but when we did them at Teac the front cover came of and the oiling of bearings and cleaning of the flywheel was done at the same time as well as other things.

Getting belts for TEAC W-890R. I'm currently sitting here a home with a DEAD TEAC A-350 Cassette Deck -- DEAD because I was told you can get belts for it (I have since found out that is is NOT true and...

That is the state of conditions at Teac and they don't care about tape customer anymore. If you need belts for any unit it is simple to find the belt kit at Marrs Communications. They do not have he cheapest prices bu the you don't know what size you need and Fred took time to find his out. If you want to do it the other way you download a copy of the PRB cross reference manual and look up the belt type that goes into your deck. The you go to Ken's Electronics and order the belts online. This does not come with instruction of how to put them in. In my many years as a Technician working on all kinds of tape decks I have never seen an instruction to put belts in a machine- it is assumed that if you can not figure this out that you probably do not belong in the machine. In cases where belts are not in place sometimes the parts layout diagram can help you determine how they go in.

Need a new belt

Measure the old belt, make certain you know how it fits before removing. You need the diameter and width in MM. You don't need to be spot on with these! Put the results with the words "Turntable belt XXmm by XXmm" into Google.

Teac v 370 cassette deck belt

You need only to measure the diameter of the belt in mm. Then enter "cassette tape belt ??mm" into Google. They are universal. If you're measurement comes to say 53mm then a smaller belt of say 50mm will fit it.

Mke certain you make a note of how it fits before removing the belt.

How to fit drive belt on Teac x-3 deck

Remove the back panel, then the top and sides metal plate, the the fron (after removing the head cap and three tape guide rollers). Keep the parts together in a save place.
Then remove the head bracket. Behind the heads, the drive belt is located. Remove the old one, clean the small and large wheel with some isopropyl ethanol and then attach the belt preferably without touching it with bare hands (use some dentist's gloves for example). Finally reassemble all parts in reverse order.
You can get spare belts for the X-3 ad X-3R or MKii over at eBay.It's also easy to replace the couner belt once you've removed the front panel.

Where can I buy a Capstan drive belt for a Teac A-4010 tape recorder??

Go to a consumer electronics repair shop, preferably an old mom&pop op and they will have what you need. If not they can order it for you when they do stocking and save you shipping money from any internet company. I used to work at one is how I know. Have a good one

You can get a FRESH belt kit from here. Cost you $10 plus some post. There is a new pinch roller listed against this old girl also could be worth replacing at the same time when you service the deck.
