Blades turn when not ingaged to turn

This will be due to belt drag. There is a blade brake fitted that is supposed to push brake pads onto the pulleys when the blade clutch is 'out'. If either the pads are worn, or the spring is missing/broken/dosconnected, that will be the problem.

Engine shuts down when pedal is released, and when pto is ingaged

check your Reverse Gear engage switch and PTO (blades engaged switch), either a bad switch(es) or short in wiring indicating that you are in Reverse with the blades engaged. Is there an override function so that you can mow in reverse? Check that circuit vs. the PTO and reverse gear. good luck

Not ingaging

Check to see if the belt might have come off and wedged on something under the frame. Or,,maybe a spindle could be locked-up. One more thing to check is if your deck might have a braking system on it to keep the blades from moveing it might not be disingaging.

Blades ingages and then stops

It sounds like the electric pto clutch is bad. If you are looking to get a new one try www.psep.biz scroll down to bottom and click on buy oem parts. Also check www.jackssmallengines.com. I can't remember which one was cheaper. Also try doing a search you might find a cheaper site.

Good luck let me know if this helps.

What ingages blades ,blades not engage

On most riding mowers flipping the handle to engage the blade causes an idler pulley to engage the drive belt, which takes up the slack in the belt and pulls it against the drive pulleys. A few odd-balls have an electric clutch to engage the blades.
