My HP L7680 has stopped printing black. The black cartridge is OK but I have replaced it with a new one to be sure. There is no error message but it just prints all other colours but not black?? HP (Indian) call centre had no answer & referred me to a technician - the phone number referred me back to their website & manual. Talk about ZERO customer service!

Delete and reinstall a printer driver and then go into the protery of the new driver and search for update go to inksell.com they will give you the latest driver

To correct this issue, please follow the steps below. With the new cartridge inserted, reset the unit to its factory setting.

1. Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.
2. Wait for 20 seconds.
3. Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.
4. Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.
5. The HP All-in-One will now be reset to factory defaults.

First, make sure that the new cartridges are hp ones, and then make sure the tape is removed. I've done this before by accident, where I put a new cartridge in and it had the tape on it and didn't get output that way.

The error states that you are using non-HP cartridges for all colours. If black prints fine then you should replace the colour cartridges with genuine HP colour carts. You should be able to get a refund on the refills since they clearly do not work as intended.

It sounds like your printer setup has changed to generating black by MIXING the color inks... if you run out of the cyan and yellow it will do red in spite of how many changes you make of the black cartridge.

Investigate the setup for the printer to make sure it is set for black from the black cartridge.

try to check if protected plastic is remove, also try to run clean head maintenance may be some solid ink stored in printer head.

If you print primarily black, your black/yellow printhead may have worn out and needs to be replaced. Go to start, printers and faxes, select the L7680 and then select properties. Print a test page and run the troubleshooter to clean the nozzles and lines. If it's not the nozzles or lines, search for C9381A on google and purchase a new printhead it should be about $70.

Try taking out the cartridge and inserting it again to make sure it was originally put in the printer correctly and not forced in.

There is no doubt in my mind it Will be the cartridges you are using, alignment will continue to be requested if print out is missing bits do yourself a favour and use HP gen., not trying to plug HP just telling you the facts
