SOURCE: How can I input my sylvania 27"

Here are the instructions for the TV.

They do not say how to select Video or Game mode without the remote. Try connecting a vcr or game to the input and do the Channel Pre-Select process to see if that will pick up the input as part of the Channel Scan. If it does you will be able to get to Game or Video using the channel up/down buttons. Another option is to get a replacement universal remote that has a code for your TV and will assign a button for Game or Video.

How do I put my tv on video mode without a remote?

Try changing channels below ch 2 there may be a channel that is the video input, click that and it views what is on the video channel. I had a TV that had two extra inputs and that's where they were.

Hi I have a l32wd12 r a TV and it will not turn on

If the clock is on then the unit is receiving power; maybe the external input feature (which tells the TV which outside source to display on the screen, e.g. cable TV, DVD player, VCR player, etc.) is not set to display the TV channels. On my Sony TV there is a button that displays TV setting options (e.g., Favorites, TV List, External inputs and settings). The external inputs function displays the options as video 1, video 2, etc., right up to video 6. My video 3 is for the VCR, video 4 is for the DVD, and video 5 is for the cable TV channels. If the TV is set for say video 3 and nothing is playing on the VCR, the screen will be dark (almost as though the TV is off). Your solution might be as simple as choosing the right external (video) input for the TV to receive the channel signals.

Saying that there is no signal for cable even though cable is plugged in

I can give you a couple things to try, but you may need to provide more info like the model of the TV. New or old TV. New install? What was old TV; digital or tube? What kind of cable?

Touch the TV/VCR button or input button on the remote. Make sure you select the input option that matches your input. For example, my cable comes thru a multi cable box and happens to be "video 4".

Did you run the automatic search for channels?

I have a s-video output and hooked it up though a cable to the yellow rca on the back of the tv. how do i get that to work and watch the computer screen on tv

1. This depends on the ports on your laptop and tv - if you have a vga port on your laptop then connect a cable to that and go to either the RGB or VGA on your TV. You can also get RGB to scart conectors so ther eare a lot of options! try your local Maplins for the cable (or look on eBay). Do a google image search to identify the connectors you have.

2. High-definition TV sets have several options of input ports and cable connections available. It's even possible to connect a computer to most HDTVs to get its picture quality. If your laptop computer is designed so it can plug into a standard computer monitor, you can easily plug it into an HDTV set, and you may have a number of options to connect it with. You must connect the video and audio separately in most cases. jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Laptop computer
  • HDTV set
  • Audio and video cables
  1. Step 1 Check the output ports on your laptop computer. There are three types of ports that can work with this connection: S-video (a circular port with pins in the middle), VGA (a square/trapezoid like port with pins in the middle and two screw pins on the sides) and DVI (a longer version of VGA).
  2. Step 2 Compare the ports on your computer with the input ports on your HDTV. DVI has the best quality, but not all TV sets will have these. Most HDTVs will have VGA and S-video (VGA has the best quality).
  3. Step 3 Connect the computer's output to the TV using the best cable connection that you have.
  4. Step 4 Connect the laptop's audio output to the TV's audio input that works with the video. In most cases, this requires a stereo-to-RCA cable, which has the single rounded plug with two black bands at one end and the red and white RCA plugs at the other.
  5. Step 5 Turn on the laptop and the computer and tune the TV to the correct input channel. Tune it to "Computer" only if you used the VGA connection; if you used S-video, tune the TV to that input channel.

Cant access input jacks

Go into the setup menus IE:Video,Audio etc: The last page has the video label option. It is there where you select the label you want to give such as VHS,Beta,DVD etc. You can also select SKIP and that is why you can't access those inputs. Select any label besides SKIP and your issue will be gone.
