fabi, if Im reading you right the machine fills with water and just sits there. Can you hear the motor running when it should be agitating? If so you might have a broken coupler. If the machine is quiet and just sits there, it could be the pressure switch. The first picture shows the pressure switch with the rubber hose and purple wire going to it (far left). There is no model number posted but this is a top loading Kenmore, should be close. Take the rubber tubing off the switch and blow into the switch with another piece of tubing. Does it start agitating? If so, there's your problem. If you do hear the motor running and it's not agitating it may be the motor coupler. did u try leaving the lid pushed down? I just had the same problem and had to push down on the lid in oirder to get it to work and leave it pushed down during the entire wash, it was quite a pain

Probably something caught inthe pump. Will have to remove pump and take obstruction out. Only other thing I can think of is the pump ran tight and would have to be replaced

Check out this you tube. Had the same problem today. Tipped washer on its side and replaced coupler between motor and gearbox. Parts are about $15

Clutch is failed. replace it.
