Two indicator lights at bottom are on and there is a off/on switch between them it is in the off position and when i put it in the on position it buzzes, also it seems like the unit had went out the lights were on when i open the door but the contents were getting soft aka defrosting .
SOURCE: GE Upright Freezer problem/door
The door seal is damaged or the hindge alignment have allowed the warm air to enter and the cold air to leak out the of the freezer. Look and feel around the door for the cold air and check the top and bottom hinges to make sure they haven't become loose. Look for tears also around the seal because this will do the same thing. Let me know what you find. JT

Is the compressor running the whole time? If so may have a problem with a refridgerant leak....check the compressor in the rear of unit, feel if its hot....may be as simple as a relay.
SOURCE: ALARM WENT OFF ON OUR KENMORE UPRIGHT FREEZER.
The light and alarm will remain active until the temp in the freezer is "normal" or satisfied. You should be able to push & hold the button (if electronic) until it stops. If it is a manual switch, they are usually located at the bottom of the cabinet below the door.(some are located inside the unit on the wall as well) It may be a "rocker" switch or part of the actual indicator light. Good luck
SOURCE: my kenmore 9 upright freezer feels warm on the
Hi,
This is normal. The condenser coils on freezers are typically located in the walls.
The refrigerator in your kitchen has condenser coils that are hot either under the frig or on the back. Freezers do not need as much heat transfer on the coils with the air so they put them in the walls, it is called a warm wall condenser. It may even feel hot to the touch if you happen to feel it near the end of a cooling cycle. It will be the warmest close to the compressor and cool off at it makes it around the cabinet down to the other side.
