I have an evolt 300 and have been having trouble taking picutes outdoors. Outdoor pics, especially at the beach and extremely white. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

First thing you should check is the iso
setting, the lower the value the slower the value makes for slower exposure.
Even if your camera is set for fully auto exposure the iso setting will
screw everything up A high aperture
value, diaphragm closed will give you a larger depth of field (close to
far will be in focus. Faster shutter speed. Possibly your iso setting is set
too high.

On a sunny beach try iso 100, shutter
speed 1/500, aperture 16. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II & I keep in
aperture priority or AV this way I can blur the background with a lower
aperture value, aperture diaphragm open wide.

I hope this will get you headed in
the right direction!

Outdoor photos mostly over-exposed.

take batteries out for an hour, this will reset to factory.  Give it a shot after that.

Outdoor pics all white

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Outdoor shots are blue

Hey VickylnStL,
What I believe is going on is your white balance setting has been set to incandescent light which on your camera is a light bulb. For outdoor shots you should have the camera set to auto white balance, or have the white balance symbol set to the sun icon or the cloud icon depending on the conditions outside. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Re: outdoor pics very light

It sounds like overexposure. If you are in Auto mode, you should have your settings automatically so you shouldn't get overexposure and if you are, you may need to have your camera serviced.

Make sure your ISO is not high, make sure your shutter speed is not long and make sure your flash output is not high.

Other than that call Canon and set up service or get an upgrade through their Loyalty program.

Outdoor picture is all white

I found the same problem. I was able to solve it by adjusting settings as follows: Go into 'Camera Settings' - top right blue button in video view. You need the 'Camera Setup' tab. Click 'Source' button. Click 'Advanced Settings' tab. 'Banding filter' - check 'Outdoor'. 'OK' your way out.
