The error message you are receiving on your Epson DS 530 scanner is related to the network adapter. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check network connection: Make sure the scanner is properly connected to the network and the network settings are correct. Try restarting the scanner and the network router.
Restart the scanner and computer: Restart the scanner and the computer and try scanning again.
Update drivers: Check for any available updates for the scanner drivers and firmware. You can download the latest drivers and firmware from the Epson website.
Check scanner settings: Check the scanner settings to make sure the correct scan settings are selected. Make sure the scanner is set to the correct mode, such as color or black and white.
Try a different computer: If the scanner is connected to a network, try using a different computer to see if the issue is with the scanner or the computer.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Epson support for further assistance.
There are many settings for scanners. You must program the register settings AND the scanner. You need the big book of setting bar codes for the scanner to change any settings in the scanner. You usually need a special cable to convert scanner to register pinout. It can be a days work even for a technician. They are the probably the trickiest thing to get working on registers so it might be best to get a dealer to do it if you don't have all of the setup information for connecting that register with that scanner.

There is probably an rule set on the scanner from the previous user. To be sure that you are not using any old settings. I would suggest to reset it to factory settings.
Connect the scanner to your Desktop PC.

Scan the Barcode Erase All Rules
The scanner is now in factory settings and you can configure it as you need.
its most likely the scanner. i had one that used up batteries pretty quick. my advice would be to get rechargeables, and get 2 sets of batteries so when one set runs down you can put the fresh set in the scanner
Problem with Scanner settings .you have to load default setting to scanner from Configuration guide which comes with Scanner.
First Scan the Enter /Exit Configuration then select load defaults and at last scan Enter/Exit Configuartion.
Scanner will be o.k
Photoshop is not an "advanced" scanning program. To get some "production" and value out of this expensive scanner you need a professional scanning program which also may control the settings of the scanner. Use PixEdit which utilizes the built-in jpeg compression in the scanner. Did a test scanning 10 pages A4 duplex fullcolor. Adobe Acrobat Pro used 4 minutes. PixEdit used 20 seconds. Guess Photoshop (in your version) would also scan uncompressed and not use this good scanner optimal.
